It's a beautiful poem. The feeling is there. I understand and love what you say. Yet, it is in the wrong contest. But I think you knew.

Your poem should consist of three lines only. The first line, should have five syllables, the second line should have seven syllables and the third line should have five syllables. Your entry may be disqualified.

Ohhhh my goodness. This poem says so much about being human. Thank you for sharing. I believe tears are healthy and can reveal so much about what is stressing us emotionally. So, I say. . .let the tears flow and then you are able to see clearer.
In the last stanza, on the first line. . .I think the poem would flow better if you used the present term of "sit" rather than sat. Just my thought. :)

This excellent poem reminds me of a piece I wrote for the site some years ago, it is called "How I Became a Softie" I was always mister hard as a rock, unbending, uncaring type of guy. When I noticed at my grandmother's funeral that my sister who never seemed to get along with our grandmother, was shedding a river of tears. This broke me totally, I have not been able since that day to control my emotions. Now I get choked up over an emotional movie scene, song, poem, just about anything can pull at my heartstrings.

This excellent poem reminds me of a piece I wrote for the site some years ago, it is called "How I Became a Softie" I was always mister hard as a rock, unbending, uncaring type of guy. Still, I think that you will find most people will only comment that you did not fulfill the requirements of the entry which is based on syllable count (a total of 17). Anyway, you are obviously an articulate writer; keep it up....but one thing about this site is that is has lots and lots of rules. Hope this is helpful. B.B. Rose

And there I go catching a little of the spirit of his rhyme and rhythm,
Not knowing all the answers but being right there with him.
