Really love this one! Love the last 2 lines especially. So true!! Love the way you combined two forms for this one as well. Good luck in the contest!

Only the daisy can qualify for this superb write.
I know the daisy has to be royal flower, even above
the rose. For they grow wild and have to be sanctified
by Mother Nature herself.

Daisy petals dance
and ask questions to the wind ~

What a beautiful line...

The black and white emphasized the simplicity of the poem. The poem is delicate and light just like a daisy and the questions it represents. Is this love or not, should we really have to ask that anyway? Your write asks and answers the question.

This piece really deserves a six star rating but I am all out :( So I give you the next best thing. Such a lovely acrostic and so true to the daisy. He loves me he loves me not thought was adorable and really painted this picture well. The answer is in the wind, so quiet. Great job!

A great tanka poem you've written here, which, as you say is also an acrostic. Couldn't have been easy to write. The syllables are perfect, as is the image. He loves me, he loves me not. Yep, I remember playing that game as a child. I don't think the daisy had as much fun, though. Your poem is pretty , especially lines two, four and five. Lovely, regards TM

I absolutely loved this. It spoke to me - simple and clear, well-structured, and true. We find answers in the silence. We use traditions and superstitions to guide us (daisy petals in this case, to help us determine our own opinions.

Here, the wind, the breeze, speaks to us, whispers the answer. It is still unknown at the end. Your poem points to the power of the process.

Very creative, deep, simple, loved all of it.

Your delightful, well-written tanka effectively expresses the nature of soul-searching questions through personification. It makes me think of the old hit song "Blowin' in the Wind" ("The answer is blowin' in the wind") Peter, Paul, and Mary? Very good

I like this new take on the 'does he/she love me or not.' Instead of plucking the petals out one by one, let the wind make the decision. This has beautiful imagery associated with it. You hit the syllable count right on with this one. Nice work.
