I've read at least a couple of chapters now and am beginning to get a hold on the story. You tell about waiting outside the OR in a very realistic way. I have been through that. Every second feels like a minute and one wonders if an answer will ever come. I hope everything will be ok here but a code blue is not a good thing. I'll look for more.

This doesn't look good for Anna. Hopefully, there will be a miracle and she will pull through and get well. If survival is not part of this story, it will be very disappointing. This ending sure leaves us up in the air. Well written, Barbara.

I'm glad I found this post and could catch up on the story (just been super busy). You are so fortunate to have a live-in artist as a collaborator--his art is perfect for the character of Anna. I agree that she "has a lot of inner strength." I liked your description of the idea of rearing a child as giving "a new meaning to patience" and your adding strong suspense at the end. -Joan

Excellent.
Although I was away for one week, I caught up with the story which has progressed well.
It is as excellent as other chapters. Only thing, it's painful to read about Anna's problems one after the other. Try and put something in between to provide relief to the reader.

Barbara, this is a great piece of writing and even though I have not read preceding chapters, I get the gist of what this one's all about. I like your short sentences and find them more dramatic. Domestic violence is a horrible blight and should be eradicated whenever it rears its ugly head. It demoralizes a person. You can feel the despair in your characters and their helplessness as they wait for news of Anna's condition. I hope all ends on a positive note.

This is an excellent chapter, emotive and very tense, by a part, the fear by life of Anna, and by other, the uncertainty about the problems that still is without resolving completely, incluide, Michael. I wait that Ana can I beat the death. Congrats.

This is a great study of your characters, Barbara. We get to share their anguish (especially Troy's) as he's waiting to hear about poor Anna. And, of course, you leave us with a great hook. A code blue. Gotta wait a whole week to find out...

Excellent chapter. Well done.

I just popped in to see what this story was like. Sounds from this chapter that a lot of exciting and tragic things have occurred. I wonder if Anna will die ...code blue isn't good! Nice job with correct grammar and paragraph breaks.
