This was a really enjoyable anecdote, ine. You set the stage well by explaining that you were not good at sports. Then you settled on squash as your regular sport. I loved the part about the contest, and that you were the only woman who entered the competition, making you the winner. You didn't do too badly competing against the males, though!
It's neat that you still have the trophy. I didn't notice any errors. Interesting non-fiction. judi

You're welcome, ine. I went back and checked on "How Do You Spell Kunfuzd?" and found that there were two versions posted. I must have screwed up when I was editing, but I didn't think that they would allow two versions of the same story. Anyhow, I disabled one. Hope it was the right one! Sorry for the confusion. judi

HI! Ine. There is an old adage that states " It is not the winning that matters, it is the taking part!" Even being able to compete competently can be a huge boost to one's spirits, so very well done you for having the courage to take part in a competition against an all male entry, apart from yourself. wiljacro.

Hi Robina! This is a great story. Congrats on winning the trophy :) I never played squash. I had some thoughts about your sentence:

"After I got married with Robert" - take out the words "got" and "with".

Great story, robina! And to be the only female playing had to make you feel really good about yourself. And the big trophy didn't hurt either! Great job!

I loved this story Ine and I can relate this. Sports weren't my 'thing' either. I was too short for basketball and handball. I understand, a girl between all those men is a victory!!! By the way seems a nice sport to me squash..
It's written very well and a pleasure to read. Well done, girl. Liefs Fia

Hi Ine! I'm confused...you lost but got a trophy? Is it a metaphor maybe? I am tired so may just be slow tonight. If so, I'm sorry. I used to compete against the boys and I could literally outrun all of them in track, until we all got into ninth grade. Then two of them could beat me. I was mad! LOL! In your story, try to even up the paragraphs Ine. Keep at it, practice is all you need. hugs! Susan

It is not 100% grammatically correct but I like the language usage and it is communicated clearly. As that is the point of language, why change at thing?

Athletically when I was in a two man race, I came in third. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.
