The beauty of simplistic depth woven in sentimental gracefulness, pulling the reader beyond the page into the moment and emotions of the author.
Very quaint.

Yesterday I wrote a review of this, but had to leave before I quite finished. When I came back it had disappeared. I'll try to recap what I wrote.
First I think using present tense is perfect for this piece and makes it more immediate and close for the reader.
The writing itself is perfect--structure, grammar, spelling, etc.
The vivid active verbs create wonderful pictures that we can relate to as you peruse your own memories through photos----"rooms despair","clock ticks eerily", "shadows whisper","faces stare out","hear them telling me","world blacks away",---all wonderful phrases that keep the writing lively and flowing.
Strong introductory sentence, rich middle section, and excellent closing sentence all make this piece appealing and professional.

A poignant, nostalgic tone
This is a moving story of love and longing, of memories and the pain of having nothing left of loved ones but the photos and letters they left behind. Brooke

Hello Susan. I have been trying to get caught up with all the notices of new submissions in my inbox that piled up while I was away for a day or so. This submission here was one of your best. It was so well told and full of emotion. Great job. Looking forward to your next submission...Tim

Hi Susan :)
An eloquent piece you've written here. It's full of deep feeling and love. It's well worthy of one of my virtual twelvers to go with the well deserved sixer.
I didn't find anything that needed changing. It's perfect as is.
Good work.

Susan,
This is an excellent short story about an old woman's rememberances of those who have passed on. I enjoyed reading this post and found nothing to criticize.

This is a well written story. And it really stuck home with me. A few days ago I made my quarterly trip to my mother's gravesite in order to put fresh flowers there.
In reading the date of her passing, I found it hard to beleive it has been four years.
God know, how much I miss her and wish we could spend an afternoon together - once again.
Thanks for sharing this. JW
