Well done, I have a koi pond and the imagery comes across so well, can see the koi...or is it a young man and a mermaid....creates lovely peaceful images. Well done

A friend of mine had a koi pond that was so beautiful it inspired this poem. How lucky you are to have one. Thanks for a great review. Elaine

If I get some pics will send, they are soothing to watch everyday. Look forward to reading more of your work.

I don't know what a koi pond is, but you bring it to readers with imagery that certainly brings it justice. And I suppose such a pond has mermaids swimming around all the time? At least, that's what I noticed in here somewhere.
A beautiful piece of work.

Koi are large goldfish and are beautiful to watch. I like the idea of mermaids swimming around. Thanks for a great review. Elaine

The first two stanzas could stand alone as a poem, although they could be broken into smaller stanzas. Your writing flows beautifully, the images equally lovely. I rate on writing skill, and try to not rate on content. My next comment deals with content. I got a little bit lost when you referred to beautiful girl and handsome boy. To me fish are genderless and I had to reread to see that I hadn't missed something. That section too could stand on its own as a poem. Again, images and feeling about your poem are beautiful.

Lovely imagery. It is amazing how watching koi swim in their lazy paced way, we feel a bit of tension eased and somehow more grounded. This was poignant and very lyrical. Nice job.

This is very different, and yet - I found it intriguing and restful. - The Beautiful Girl in the pond, and the Handsome boy, who share the beauty of love and spring, but do not have the ability to touch one another, except with their souls. I liked it. Rose.

This is soothing and a pleasure to read. The lives of fish are something that we humans will never appreciate, but you brought out the fragility of their lives. Excellent writing.

A fish pond is so beautiful and relaxing. The poem makes me feel like I've been introduced to the fish. It's easy to imagine them coming back to life each spring. Great picture.

Lovely dreamy poem. I had koi in a pond one time. Sadly the herons got their young every spring.
I got a little confused with who was human and who was fish. Maybe that was intentional on your part?
