Oh, I find Nonets to be so strange
'cause lines span the syllable range
Of nine to one in sequence
with the phony pretense
It is poetry
But I don't see
Much beauty
Nor wit
just....
Just kidding, but I could not resist. Your nonet is good.

I did a syllable count and wonder why-I have no idea what the exact count for a nonet is. I suppose it's a counting down by lines, and you did it. Excellent. I like cats.

Cats seems to seek out the mother nature in their human wards. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a good read.

Love it! Love poems about animals, especially cats and dogs. You've done this exceedingly well, and I can't imagine changing it in any way. It's a cute poem that shows your love for cats.

New review:
Nice to see you posting and entering contests again, Teri - Best of luck in the contest.
Rose.
Original Review
Nice little Nonet about your special friends. The love you feel for them comes through loud and strong in this Nonet. Just a small nit - I would look to change out one of the 'times' words that you use. Rose.

Lady Teri7,
The truest form a predator, and the scourge and devastator of the native birds in North America when introduced as tabbies and toms with the first settlers. Never had such a voracious creature been loosed on this continent. For the first time, no birds nest was safe from this cunning and opportunistic feeder.
The horror is when people delight in their softness, cuddle them, then release them into the night to permit their predations on anything creature they can overpower.
Our children's cats lived in our house their entire lives, with oldest at twenty-three. They had their toys and "trees" with their hideaways, attentive veterinary care and our affection. However, they never were allowed outside the house.
Growing up on the farm in rural Wyoming, it was an article of faith that we shot feral cats when hunting in the woods or fields. Ground nesting birds are particularly vulnerable to these exotics.
Care for your cats, enjoy them, but please keep them indoors where they are safer, and do not destroy other wildlife.

I'm glad to hear that you do, as all pet owners should.
However, are they indoors? That's the key to their safety. I take exception to these animals killing the birds and squirrels in my neighborhood.
I do not blame the cats. As with large dogs, that can be dangerous if not well-trained and controlled, these actions are instinctive. I understand the why of a dog chasing me on my bicycle, and the cat's predation on songbirds. However, domestic animals, as pets, require the owners' care and attention to prevent destructive incidents.

Hello Teri! I think you have two lines of six instead of one and that makes for ten lines instead of the required nine. I like your kitten poems.
