I think I must have missed this one during my jet lag! You certainly captured a serene moment in time. I particularly liked the phrases "gentle spill of light" and "layered shadows. Well done! Hugs- Joan

There is nothing like a beautiful quiet day...one that starts out with a fresh brewed cup of coffee that seems to linger on! Also quite nice when it ends with a glass of wine that also, lingers on! Thanks for sharing amada!

Very quiet, peaceful and satisfying poem.
This is the way I feel after I have just read something written very well and I smile as my eyelids close slowly.
I am at rest and feel content!

Sounds like someone who is very content to
be who and where they are. Sounds like me.
Usually I only like poems that rhyme but this is
exceptional and I enjoyed it very much.
Well done. Honeycomb

Thank you for commenting in my poem on a day when nothing is happening and is beautiful, anyway.

Amada, this poem brings such peace and delight to the senses. The visual of the morning over a cup of coffee are sensational. There ensues a deep calmness in your words and the flow of the poem is good. Even the clock pendulum adds to the serenity of things.
Well done. luv jada

Lovely poem!
The opening line "quiet diminutive days" is very captivating and the format is effect. Well-chosen line breaks and the use of alliteration help create a very soft, soothing rhythm.
Great job.

'Quiet diminutive days
Knocking on my mellow window sill
your gentle spill of light
lingers soft
on my morning cup.'
The way you have said about the happenings in the
morning as a person gets up is good.
Nice work
