I loved it! The way you played the game in your poem with just a few short lines was almost pure genious. I never would have thought so, about a game, that it could be incorporated into a poem like you have done. Bravo!

Here is a poem with an important message. You came up with an unusual topic but I believe it works in this senyru. Clever usage of "Check mate" and the photo. Speaks of the challenge in the world today when disease and super bugs are on the increase.

Thanks, Elly. With casual sex a subject of songs and movies and television sit-coms, it's a magnified problem.

Oh, this made me laugh out loud. It has all the characteristics of a senryu--it's just bawdy enough. I love the word play. It's the perfect length. I love it!

Clever from start to finish sf. It's hard to believe that tSTD's are just as big a problem now as they ever were. You can check mates first but mates tend to lie. This subject will unfortunately be topical for ever I'm afraid. xx Pix

You can always ask a mate for the results of his blood tests and he can't produce--well, sorry. I fret at the casual sex in movies and t.v. That doesn't help with the message, for sure.

I have heard of a man who insisted a girlfriend of mine take an aids test and she freaked out but she did it but when she asked him for his results, he just said he was fine but didn't produce anything either and there was no way he could have known in the time frame. He turned out to be a real jerk too. No surprise there. I agree with you about the gratutious sex in the media too.

Ooh...game over! Who's a clever little Spitty? I love your cutting edge wit Shari and the mate sure does need the once over with a fine tooth comb. Your double word play is so very clever and I cant sixer you on this I am sorry but please know this was one of the smartest ones I have read in awhile, excluding your last one of course which I reckon earnt a sixer from me. I think you have a great sense of the Senryu and all its requirements and this is a fine example of just how darn clever you are.
I guess as long as mates stray we have to keep them in check huh? So very well done girl.

A very good Senryu my dearest one. Full of imagery and feelings. Yes a person can, but Aids doesn't kill. It just helps the lifestyle kill the immune system. The killed immune system kills the person. Thank you for this awesome poem.

Years of ignorance on this subject. So glad the truth is out there now. Can you imagine this--it's true. Two women in their sixties in the same community laughing on a local tv show that the same man gave them Herpes!
