Hi Bill,

I got such a kick out of this story. Poor grandpa had a truck load of bad luck in that week. How could anyone say nothing Happens in Lagrange? Your good skill at story telling and grandpa's antics make this a joy to read. Well done, chey

Hi Bill,

Anyone who thinks nothing ever happens n a small town in a rural area has never lived in one!

I bet Grandfather had a tough time explaining the bullet hole to your Grandmother!

An amusing tale, well told.

Patrick

In reading this cute story, or should I say stories - one could not help but smile. Being very well written, one could easily picture the events as they occurred within one's mind.

I do have to comment though, I sure wish I had the '49 Ford. :-) JW

I so enjoy the voice with which you tell your tales from the south. I feel for a moment that I am sitting on my grandmother's screened in porch listening to family share stories.

Wonderful.

Okay, Bill, I suspect you might have a tad of
snake oil in your blood. Good for you!
This was one very busy news week.

Peace, Lee

what a privilege to be
up close to a great
horned owl... I just
love owls... held an
eagle owl in my gloved
hand once... the expression
on my face in a picture my
husband took, said it all...
since I had to feed it a
dead chick.

Marvellous creatures.

Bill, this is great. The last incident made me laugh, even though it wasn't really funny. I'm surprised you haven't posted this before now.

Great story. Loved it. Well done. pat

Dear Bhogg,

Great story about your grandpa and the summer of 1960. We get to know him through your eyes. It is also enlightening about the rural south during that period. One little nit, you overuse was which leads to passive writing. (don't we all)

Warm regards,

Winslow

Thank you for reading and the wonderful compliment of the six. I'll revisit. I'm actually sensitive to passive voice and cut when I can. Regards, Bill
