Bev--I read your conversion story (of sorts) with interest. I was raised as a marginal Catholic and never found Christ there. I wound up, as a new Christian, in the Baptist denomination. I am glad for you to have found Christ where you came from and that He became real for you there. I just couldn't find Him there. But the important thing is we did get hooked up. I thought your writing was engaging, brave, and a wonderful testament to your faith. Karen

Hi, Karen. Thank you for this wonderful review! I find many of the beliefs and, more importantly, the concrete actions on behalf of Jesus by the wide variety of Christian churches to be very inspiring. Jesus is the important common denominator. Thanks for your time and excellent insights. Blessings, Bev

Hi, Bev. You should post some of your artwork with your writings. Christ certainly does love each and every one of us. It appears you have studied the Bible and have found answers on your own, which is wonderful. I believe this is happening more often now. Some of the older Catholics do not feel this way. My husband and I bought an older person(in her eighties then) a Catholic Bible and she showed disdain for our gift. She was and still is a strict Catholic. It was an expensive Bible with beautiful religious pictures in it. I would loved to have a Bible like it. Apparently, she thought the Bible is only for priests. This is really sad because some of the priests have very little knowledge of the Bible. I know there are some excellent priests, but some of the bad ones have hurt the Catholic church badly and many Catholics have left it for non Catholic churches, my husband and I did. We have both studied the Bible closely and continued to do so. We believe all Christians have an equal chance to get to Heaven. What is important is for all of us to get to know Christ personally.

Thank you for sharing your story, Bev.

April

Hi, April. You've said so much in your review that I totally agree with. The Catholic church has made some serious mistakes and is still paying the price for that. With the older, no-ask generation, passing away, things are going to change radically. We were never encouraged to have a personal relationship with Christ. That was reserved for the elite (priests). And, I agree that Scripture is an invaluable tool for discovering Jesus. I am really honored by your beautiful and generous review, April. I feel like I know you better now through your shared insights! That's awesome. Hugs, Bev

I really got caught up in your story, Bev. You tell it so beautifully and
with such honesty that I wanted to keep reading more and more. The struggles you had with your beliefs prior to the incident with your pictures and then what happened when you came back into the room and saw them all off center is to me a signal that, yes, Jesus was there giving you a message. I had an incident occur a few days after my mother died that I believe was due to a miracle of this nature. While I often doubted my mother's love, this incident reassured me that, yes, she did love me. I actually wrote about it once on FanStory, but I can't even remember what the story was called. I loved reading this, Bev. And the English teacher in me saw pretty much a perfect story with no SPAGs. But here I go with one tiny observation: as I often hammered into my students' heads, commas and periods always go inside quotation marks. There are very few exceptions to that rule, and I'm not sure what they even are. In your 7th paragraph from the top, I noticed a few of those errors. But, honestly, I was so wrapped up in your story, they seem pretty insignificant to me. I just have an obsession about punctuation, and I am often guilty of my own errors anyway! Thank you for sharing this lovely story. I loved it, and I hope you're okay if I ever point out any errors I might find. I just want to be of help in some small way, if necessary. Lots of hugs to you, my friend. Connie

Thank you SO much for caring enough to point out my mistakes, Connie. I absolutely appreciate the help! I'll go back and correct the errors pronto, hehe. And thanks for this touching, beautiful review, my friend. I appreciate you! If you think of the name of that post, I would love to go into your portfolio and read it. Big hugs, Bev

This was great to read Bev, such an honest piece about your feelings about Christ throughout your life.
I am so glad you now feel He is with you and that knowing that helps you to fight those horrible voices (which I totally relate to)
Thanks so much for sharing this.

Thank YOU, Mel, for your wonderful review. Jesus has been present in my life through the many wonderful folks that helped me keep my sanity and give me the tools to overcome my challenging disorder. Good to hear from you, my dear friend. Blessings, Bev

You know I've been thinking recently, I think we all have this "something" inside us, that loves us and knows all the answers to all the questions we will ever ask. We just have to learn to get in touch with it. I don't know if God put this "something" in us at our birth, but probably. I think it is that "something" that said "I love you, I love you, I love you"... It's God but He's already inside you....no offense, just wanted to share this thought I had recently. Hugs, Mel

Mel, I totally agree with you. I think the whole issue with the supposed 'Fall' is that we somehow lost sight of the fact that we are without stain. However it happened, the idea that something made by God could be inherently evil became part of our psyche. For me, Jesus was a rare human being that recognized his direct connection with the divine. I believe he tried to convince his followers of this, but they simply didn't get it. You've expressed it beautifully: something inside us knows who we really are. Xxx Bev

Hi Bev.
I'm back home from the States. I was very naughty and went gambling in a casino. Won $750 on one hand of poker!
This personal account of your battle with dogma and faith is absolutely outstanding.
I had a professor at university, and when anyone asked him if he believed in God he would state a whole list of things he didn't believe in. Like an old man in a nightshirt looking down on us and making notes in a black book. He never answered the question - but I realized he was saying that we have a personal relationship with God that has little to do with the teachings of the church.

Congratulations on your winning all the moolah, Ron. I rarely win when I go to the casino near our house. Always joke that it's my contribution to the local Tribe. What a beautiful and generous review you've given my piece. I am deeply honored by your support and, of course, love the extra star. Good to have you back, my friend. Looking forward to a slew of writing based on your adventures! Xxx Bev

To Writingfundimension,
This truly is a very good example of just how the Lord can and does work His grace and truth in our lives, when we allow Him in.
It reminds me of an experience I had with Jesus and I wrote about it recently called "Bewildered Souls."
Good structure and it was in depth of your real emotions.
I do so hope that your disorder will find you peace in time.

Bev, I am so thankful I stopped to read your beautiful testimony of faith. I too have experienced Christ in a special way, and have felt His presence as a child and all through my adult life. I agree that He probably was there all the time waiting for you to open the door to his patient knock. Your testimony is powerful and would be wonderful for teens and adults alike to hear it. Your testimony calls to mind these wonderful word form an old hymn, 'The longer I know Him the sweeter He grows.'

Hi, Patricia. Thank you so very much for this superb review. If you are in the mood for a good read, I would suggest Dr. Sparrow's book. With your personal experiences, you probably would really relate to the many stories he shares. I loved your review! Blessings, Bev

This is a wonderful tale of your awakening spiritualism. I never review in grammar and punctuation only on story content you are a talented writer. Your story flows well. The story tells a tale that draws you reader though to the end. Your charters are well rounded and believable. All in all a solid five.
Penny for your thought

Bev

This is such an intensely personal write that I almost wish you had posted it For Comments Only. Because to accord it a rating seems somehow trivial ... superficial.

This reads as a testimony. You offer us, your readers, the privilege of accompanying you on a personal journey. It is a gesture of amazing courage and generosity. I almost dare to think that your higher self urged you to share.

I'm sorry if these comments are halting and incoherent, but this write touched me so deeply that it has robbed me of the power of review.

Dear Julia. What a touching and beautiful review you've given my piece. And you are absolutely correct, I was not able to set aside the urge to produce this. I felt it was important for my personal growth to share this and, hopefully, open a door for another person to invite their own Christ encounter. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your deeper understanding. Bless you, my friend. Bev
