Indeed. It is a good day to be alive! I'm happy today, too! I feel hope and I smell Spring. Really? Thunder in winter? I'm jealous, I cannot imagine. Love your art as well. Thanks
for this! Ginger

This is a cute story about an outside adventure with you and your dog. And you are right, thundersnow is rare. I have only seen it a few times.

Thanks for sharing this. JW

A beautiful story of a beautiful day. This is well written with excellent imagery. I miss the snow but not the cold. I love your marvelous uplifting ending. Not to make you feel bad but it has been spring here since October. Winter decided to take a break.

HI Sasha...how nice that you have had springlike weather!! I'm glad for you! :)) It won't be long...hopefully. Tho northern Indiana is much like Canaday...to me anyway. Cold all year long. Except for the very middle of summer. Southern Indiana is better...milder winters and earlier springs...and I used to be able to ride clear up thru November. I'm wasting my life living here...and living with constant harassment. Literally. You are blessed my friend. Nice weather. Great friends. Wow...I can only imagine. :) HUG! Suse

Excellent, Suse. Your imagery is strong and starts your essay off well. I like the mood of this one. Winter is something to be gotten through, but there's always the distant hope of spring to urge you on. Haven't had thundersnow in quite a while. In the south, thunder in winter means snow within ten days. Temperature-wise, this is our first day of winter here. We've had snow as late as April. But we've also had 90 degrees in April, so the weather's always a surprise to us. Hang in there. :) Nancy

Very nice Flashfiction. I would not know where to start. Am not good in stories at all. Like this about you and your dog and you trying to conquer your pain. Are you doing a bit better perhaps?

Susan,
your flash fiction story is splendidly written and an enjoyable read. The art work is exquisite you used. Your story paints a picture in the readers head. Your narrative is excellent. In 408 words for a maximum effect you established a setting, conflict, and a resolution to your story. I liked your opening or hook line: "Snow falls, soft like Eskimo Kisses. I stoop to gather firewood and pull a muscle in my gut. Another ache, another pain. But I think of the alternative, and (I) am grateful that I still feel pain." I agree about not aching and to be young again. I'm saddened tonight because Whitney Houston died at 48 and I grew up with her music. I wrote a poetic homage to her. I'd recommend this fantastic flash fiction to other reviewers and readers. You always rock the top notch fiction stories, my talented friend. I hope you're feeling okay. Love ya...Melissa.

Well, I'm glad you wrote a happy ending for Buck. I enjoyed it well.
You express gratitude for being able to feel the pain. What wisdom you've acquired and how much that wisdom must have cost.
Thundersnow... that's a new thing for me.

I very much enjoyed your and Buddypup's tale. :-)

I feel like I'm following your healing from surgery. I'm confused by thunder in winter promising snow in the spring.
Why would this make you happy?? I thought you hated cold. I love the ending. Just wondered if you meant warmth in spring?

Hi Shari! How are you?? This is just an odd thing that I've heard three times..and my mom always used to say there would be a chilly spring ahead! And she was right....last winter I heard it too, and we did have a cool summer. I do hate the cold, this was just trying to express my longing for spring? Thank you for reading Shari...I have more doctor visits tomorrow and am trying to heal! Hope you are enjoying some warmth...it was cool down your way a night ago? But I would sure take 50 degrees! Lol! Hug! Susan

Cold here last night. Down to 21! But it will get better as the week goes on. Glad to hear that you're healing.

?? What? I will go back and see what happened. I've been deluged with a bunch of things from advertisers. I may have accidently sent a request to you instead of the one I meant to? I'll check! hug! S.

Finally, one I don't have to write another ending for. I've always heard that a thunderstorm in winter meant a snowstorm was on the way. So far we've missed the snow this year.
Very well done, Buck

Hey, there you are! I'm glad you like this, and you are SOooo lucky to have no snow! That's nice! My mom always said the thunder in winter meant a cold spring and snow in May! ? I have had three instances where we had cool summers after this phenom and it is a neat thing to experience. Thanks for this kind review Buck!! :) Susan
