Thank you so much, Leanne for going back to read this one. I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. This is one of the stories published in a book with twelve more. All about the Hedgerow Capers of little animals. There are loads more, but the publishers decided to take another direction and stopped taking any more manuscripts. Thanks again, my friend. Sandra xx

Damn! Sorry for my language, but this is exceptionally lyrical!
I saw myself going with the lyrical voice, enjoying the adventure with the kids. It also reminds me of my childhood, not so exact, but with moments of hunting, swimming, and lots of fun. Thank you for sharing.

Aww, thank you so much, NmaHassan. I wrote three books full of these stories for my Hedgerow Gang. My last poem with them was my Hedgerow Christmas Poem. They are fun to write. I'm so pleased you enjoyed reading it, you must have gone a long way back in my portfolio to find it. Thank you for that glorious sixth star, I really appreciate it. And, again, Welcome to Fanstory! :) Sandra

Wow, another good children's rhyme placed in a story. I love these characters and their names simple and plain. Camping out children find out how to survive and stay alive. My son would be Daddy Mouse around our house. He takes my grandchildren camping, and taught them survival vital things in life. I say again your childrens poems ought to go viral.

Most of my stories are taken from memories of things I did when I was a child, or what my brother did. I think it is important for children to learn such things and your son has got it just right, I am sure your grandchildren love it all. My grandson is really into camping, he is my youngest grandchild and only boy. I had two sons and have three granddaughters. They keep my young too! Thank you for another wonderful review, my friend. :) Sandra xx

Very smart dad in this well told story about getting children moving on a summer day. Camping is always fun especially the first time. It seems a good way to keep the children in line too. They will be good until they get permission for the next time.

The poem flows well and no rhymes seemed forced.

Keep writing

This is an enjoyable read, and the rhymes seem very unforced, which is difficult with so many rhyming couplets to work with. And Hedgerows - are there any left?

What a delightful piece of writing and story telling. I am certain this could be developed into a children's book with a a water color artist. The flow was easy and the Rhyming was natural and simple. Very good

If you are not publishing these stories what a shame each one a children's book on their own. You are simple amazing If I had any more six's to give you would earn every one.

Your children's poems are so good that I would compare them to the famous, much-loved "Night Before Christmas." I have a shirt featuring that poem. Maybe some day I'll wear one featuring one of your great poems!

I love this as much as the one I read the other day. I still don't have any kids, but I'm going to become a fan just so I don't miss any of this wonderfully written book. Yes, I watch kids movies, too. Growing up is highly overrated, don't you think?

Just one thing:

you sure?' He replied.--he replied

See ya next chapter--

Growing up is a serious illness in my book! My Mother is nearly 90, and she still acts like a kid, love her!! Thank you for such a lovely review, I hope you enjoy the next one, coming soon! Oh, and thank you for pointing out the 'He-he' thingy! xsx
