I'm not sure how to review this, but I'm excited to read the story again in its revised and edited version. Looking forward to what I already know is a wonderful, exciting story. Thanks for sharing it.

First off, I wanted to simply replace chapter 3 and it somehow got named Prologue. Since the object was to replace every chapter, I went through putting in the newly revised version and retitled it. I dubbed in a small intro so something would read in the Prologue. Surely, you are the only who will get stuck reading it. But many thanks!

Although I don't remember the first two chapters, this one has brought tidbits of the protagonist's character to the fore. Thus, the reader is glimpsing the bravery and resourcefulness of this young lady. You've also given us a rudimentary description of her surroundings. Well done.

Very well done, I will like to read the rest of the story as you finish it. I thank you very much for using my husky Lacey's photo in your story, she is a trained lead dog and has given me hours of enjoyment, and is my loyal and constant companion when I'm not working. Again, a well done piece of writing, is pretty descriptive and reads well.

Thanks a million for joining me to present this chapter with added interest. I'm sure the fabulous picture of Lacey attracts readers on FS. I sure do appreciate displaying her, snow and all, and thanks for your comments and review. Marie

A very heartfelt chapter about the love and gratitude Brook has for Shemya. It is not overly sentimental, which gives it an authenticity for life in that part of the world. Very enjoyable.

Well written, but I always find using present tense throughout seems artificial It also constrains the writer's options.

Good job!

Pesent tense becomes difficult to maintain sometimes. I've done this for the kids this time. Thanks for doing this review. Marie

Alaskastory:

No pun intended but what a story. I cannot imagine
coming face-to-face with a bear much less having one
of my beloved dogs getting into a fight with it. I
look forward to reading more of your work soon.

I fell in love with your hero. Fascinating subject, even though it is not the actual attack. A beautiful tale well told, a close encounter with a bear is enough to shake anyone up. This is a interesting chapter full of action. I have enjoyed reading this and look forward for more.

I enjoyed the chapter. I like the way you use the telling of the story to bring the point of a desolate country but love of life together.

Very good..It was be quite an amazing thing to had a dog sled...I'm not much for cold weather so I'd probably be one in by the fireplace but my younger sister would be wild about the idea..she always wanted to parachute out of an airplane, not in my lifetime would I do such a thing. Get the idea she's braver than I am. Great piece. I love the picture of the dog. I have two one year old little male Maltese puppies and I adore them. God bless.
