Great opening paragraph! I loved this story so much, from the opening paragraph and on, pulled as by the tide by the moon, fully understanding that desire to go in some way where it's no longer possible to in the real world. Beautiful message in this lovely fantasy tale. Well done and worth many more than the six stars I have to give :) Marcia

Oh Marcia. Thank you. What a generous note. I was feeling this too. Just wanting to go ride away from here. And never come back. Weird. But that's me. I will pm you soon? Thank you for the extra stars...what a joy to know you liked this. OH! I gave my kitty a bath tonight. She is so soft and clean! AND cold! She's been sticking to me like glue! lol. I hope you are warm and safe my friend. xx. Susan

I swear you are the queen of short and to the point short stories. You tell them like it is and get the job done. This is another good job.

Hi Barb! That's the best compliment! Thank you very much. I get these hair brained emotions, and just have to write it down. I want to do this, just escape pain and the trials of this life ... even now, at 'just' 57 ... I cannot imagine how miserable I'll be as a really old lady. I'm terrible right now, it's not good to have self-pity this badly. I do hope you are happy and well!! xoxo! Susan

Oh you really were in a playful mood, weren't you? Perhaps you were moonstuck too but this story is made from moonbeams and light. Sigh.

Susan,
In 228 words you've written a fabulous flash fiction story. The art work is adorable you used. In 228 words you've effectively created a setting, character,, conflict and resolve to your brief tale. This so deserves a six, but Evil Eddie in the drop down box states "You have rewarded this author a six star rating twice in the past thirty days so this rating is not available." In your 228 words story you've used many effective writing devices of alliteration and metaphor. I like your phrases: "bright as to almost blind earthly eyes, tired and longing for respite, pulls her soul along, tears of joy silently flowing, the woman strokes the silken neck. and And Luna winked at Sleeping Sun, while she let the girl and filly play." You brought tears to my eyes with this profound flash fiction. You have a beautiful pen, my friend. I'd recommend this flash fiction in 228 words to other readers. Most impressive I'm giving you a sitting ovation. I wish you a blessed day. Love ya...Melissa.

hi Missy. Thank you very much. I'm so happy when you really feel what I try to say my friend. This one was the result of a moon so bright that night that it hurt my eyes, and I wanted so bad to go out and ride my horse...but now, health issues, and living in suburbia have stolen that too. Hugs and love to you...susan

Hi Susan,

How I with I could write stories as well as you! I love this one and melancholy flavor of the words are both wonderful and worrisome. Our heroin is taking her last ride but somehow I find the ending uplifting. Bravo! Blessings, chey

Hi Margaret....thank you so much. I am 57, but feel 80. I can barely walk right now, and it's so depressing, so infuriating. I know I can never be young again, but this is ridiculous. I do hope you are doing well. I think of you a lot Margaret. Thank you for this review, and for being a wonderful friend...xoxo. Susan

In reading this story and gazing at the included picture, I could not help but smile as my focus diverted by to my teenage years and the the hours of fun I enjoyed with my horse, Half Pint. JW

Hi Susan:)
Only a horse lover could possibly feel the magic bond that, drives this weary old woman to mount up and ride under the silverly moon fueling her imagination to visualize a fantasy where she is again young and her beautiful steed can carry her to the moon and beyond. No extra stars available, will you share a passel of virtual Irish hugs?

Roger

hi Roger...thank you very much...yes, of course. I love your fun and interesting reviews...I am almost there too. IF I'm lucky, I'll be able to ride some more this summer after surgery in a couple of weeks. I am so scared, and in pain. Writing is all I have right now. THank you for the hugs...I need them. xoxo, Susan

    Hi Susan|)
Good luck with your surgery. I'm sure it willl be successfull. I'll be praying for you.

Don't sell yourself short. you have something far more valuable than your writing. Your imagination that allows you to go anywhere in the Universe and see beauty in all of God's creatures.

Love and more Irish hugs. Just close your eyes and feel the squeeze.
