I know what you mean, I have a few of those "unknowns"
too.
You express your frustration well in this
well rhymed and metered poem.
Glad I got to read this one from the past.
Nancy
Are you happy about the ground hog?

I have no idea what happened. Did he not see his shadow? Did he predict an early spring? That's great if he did. We know if he did it is written in stone. LOL NOT! Thanks for the review Nancy!xxx

Gorgeous photo that complements your story perfectly. I see why you hang on to it once you recovered who these people are. I can so well relate to this: I have so many questions about the family where I come from and hubby's relatives.

Enjoyed this poem Nancy about the pictures. I can relate because my wife has been going through our pictures. So many that are not marked, and you have no clue who they are. Your rhyming is perfect as usual, and word flow very smooth. Bless you for sharing.

Same here but when I wrote this it was about pictures my grandmother had squirreled away from the 1800's. I did identify a few when I found some cousins I had lost contact with. Thanks for the review. Nancy

Beautifully written poem on reminiscence (or an attempt at it, lol), and remembrance of days, people, places and events which happened long before our own time, Nancy.

All eight of your quatrains are wonderfully well rhymed, as always. The meter, flow and cadence of this verse is smooth and even. Also, as always.

This could be about a younger member just going through a box of old family photos of relatives who lived before them, or, it could be an elderly person suffering for the affects of Alzheimer's disease who lived then and there with them, but because of the disease can no longer recall who they were or where they once lived.

Well done, Nancy.
Have a super day.
~Dean

You don't have to have Alzheimer's to forget people with you in old pictures. That happens. Some people just pass through your life and never make a dent while others stay forever. LOL Thanks for the review! Nancy

Hello Nancy
I like your repost
Why, the rhyme is good, and as usual very good meter and tell us a story of your search and

need to find the spot to place
them in your family tree.
your need to learn just who they are
or that will never be.

Gert

I have Twenty-six aunt and uncles on my Father's side and twelve on my mother side. Add to that the one hundred plus first cousins and you see why I have made not attempt to put names to the images I have. This is very well written.

I understand completely. I have boxes of pictures from my mother's home. She knew who they were but now that she's gone, I may never know. It is still fun to look at them and contemplate who they might be. Well done Nancy. As always, I enjoy your work.

Blessings
Janet

Very nice poem. I've thought some of these same things as I've gone through photos I inherited. I had no idea who people were or where or when? I also thought this poem could be applicable to someone with Alzheimers, when people start to forget the people in their own families. The rhymes are great, I enjoyed reading.

Nicely done. I know the feeling. We have inherited a lot of pictures like that, too. My mom knew their names and told me once, but neither of us thought to WRITE DOWN THE NAMES! Grrrr... Now she's gone and so are their identities. Sigh...

Hello, Nancy,

What a wonderful poem! Thank goodness we have the chance to re-post our earlier works, when, as you say, we were unknowns.
This piece is easy to relate; we all have old photos that will probably remain a mystery. Although, these days we have Ancestory. com, so anyone who cares to send "them" their DNA, may find their gene pool from around the world. They probably have pictures that might even solve some age old mysteries of attic photos.

Nice work with the conception and delivery of this theme...it was a pleasure!
Have a great afternoon,
Bill
