As a lover of animals and specifically horses myself, I can relate to this sad tale.

This is a kovely and loving story about a horse, and deep friendship akin to human love emotion. A champion of a horse called George, and the lady Catherine who loved and cared for him. Very touching and very believable too. Humas do develop deep affecxtions for animals like Dags, Cats, Horse etc and are deeply emotional when a loss occurs. I could feel that sense of loss right here. Thank you. James McCorkle.

What a splendid review, James. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support for George's story. I'm glad that you got a feeling for the other-wordly love between Catherine and George. Warmest regards, Bev

I really enjoy reading and you supplied a good story, so no thanks required. Love has many shades and depths which we must explore properly to enjoy. I have been married to the same lady for 68 years now, and that is my expression of Love. I also have a deep love of flying. My only other passion. James.

What a wonderful message you've given me here, James. I'm on 36, with the love of my life. Here's to many more for us both! Bev

What a beautiful and touching story from beginning to end.
It's a very tough role deciding to love an animal, fully knowing that his life will likely end before your own.
Catherine sounds like an amazing friend who honoured her own love through the way she treated George.
If I had a six, I'd give you ywo. The writing was flawless, but the sentiment was beyond a six.

Bev, this is a very special write. You manage to pack in just enough sentiment, without making it maudlin. This is fine example of celebrating a life. As always,
your prose is clean and direct without being methodical.
You should be very proud of this piece. I would be.
Peace, Lee

Thank you very much, Lee. I'm honored by your review and words of support for the piece. It's always good to get specifics on what the reader feels works in the piece as you have generously offered here. And, I am very pleased to know that I shared well what a special being George was. This is very touching. I've raised horses in the past and my ex still keeps a dozen for their beauty and companionship. She's not able to ride or maintain them on her own. You should see the movie War Horse. Some of the most incredible 'horse actors' ever. Dan :))

Hi, Dan. Thanks for the great review and supportive insights. I do plan on seeing War Horse. As I mentioned in my piece, I'm afraid a bit of horses and don't ride them. But with George there was never fear - only awe. Warmly, Bev

I could barely read this. I've buried two, dearly loved horses in the past few years, and the pain of it has never left, or even lessened. I am sorry about this. I am posting about this very thing when I get it done. About an old mare we had. This is very well written, but I couldn't look for spags. I'm sure there are none. I miss Rusty, and Kit so bad. And the three we have now, well. I need to sell them so I don't have to bury them someday. Tearfully, susan

Catherine has never bought another horse. She developed back problems, but I think it's because she could never face losing another horse like George. Thank you, my friend, for your awesome review and very kind, supportive words. I'm going to be sure to read your story! Love, Bev

Excellent artwork to compliment your story. And with horses you can share things as well. Did not know another horse would mourn. This must have been such an impressive thing to witness. I love horses too. Well written and realistic.

Thank you so much, Robina for your terrific review. I think that Patches especially missed George because they were the only two horses in the barn for most of their lives. Thanks again, my friend. Blessings, Bev

A rather quaint story in many ways, though it obviously tinges with deep sadness, I sense you may have been left thinking you knew George a lot longer than the one timee you met
