Elaine, This is so pretty. Has a nice smooth read to it. And your colors and picture match perfect. It's funny you talk of the owl dancing. My mom has one on her land. It sits on a pole at night. The silly Owl won't move all night. But in the morning it is gone. Very nicely written.

Beautiful poem, the owl's relationship with the mysterious beauty of the night and the new dawn. The symbolism of owls, always related to magic, night and now with science and intellect.
Congratulations!

I really loved this, mermaids. Such a six-star hoot. It has a great flow. The idea of the owl as an "owl of the arts" was clever. The barn dance boogie reference is clever, as was using the sound of the owl. The thought in the second stanza is really lovely--life is short so enjoy. One foot up and then the other makes a cute word picture. Smoothly done. Great artwork of the owl too. judi

mermaids, what a fun poem. I can just imagine that owl
dancing all night under a beautiful moon and sky full
of stars. Hoo Hoo Hoo will join her... maybe sing a
song she can dance to. I enjoyed your poem.

Now I understand why the neighborhood owl drives me so crazy every night. Your poem made me see him dancing on a branch as he kept me awake. I like the connection of nature and creativity.

"savoring the feel
of the moon"
Very sweet feel to this phrase.
"so one goes up
and she does a jig
a barn owl boogie
til dawn arrives"
This is one fun party animal;)
Beautiful flow and wise words indeed.

I like the idea of the jig and dance. My family admires owls very much for their beauty, images of smartness, and also for their job as predators. I kept wanting to hear more about the owl's need to hunt for prey. I like your descriptiveness about the sky but I wish I could hear more about the colors. You had my imagination going. Good work!
