Definitely a topic that men and women both have to take seriously. I have a neighbor that just had her second breast removed because of cancer. It's not a respecter of persons, everyone needs to pay attention. Good advice. God bless.

A very informative and humorous piece that I hope everyone especially women read. Love your description of the torture of a breast exam--even for me, a barely B! "inflate like a Hindenburg... to the size of a crepe. " LMAO! Another belly laugh over the story of "lumpy breasts." Wish I had a sixer to give you. This is great. Oh- great play on words in the title.

Hey, Spitfire. I really appreciate your awesome review. Thanks, also, for the virtual six. I know mammograms are not comfortable for anybody. So far, I haven't had anyone chew me out for THAT insensitivity. I really appreciate your support, my friend. Kind regards, Bev

I'm sorry you lost your mother to breast cancer. You have my sympathy, TS. It can be a dreadful way to go when diagnosed in advanced stages. So I couldn't agree more with your wise advice. Thanks for stopping by! Kind regards, Bev

This is a great essay, very informative, but with some humor, too. Thanks for sharing what we all need to know (even men).

It truly sounds like Hell to get a mammogram. Almost as bad as getting a prostate exam, though I have never had one. I know that my Mother has had several mammograms and all we clear thank God. I could never imagine breast cancer in a man. You sure can't squeeze his breasts into that clamp. I guess that is where the MRI would come in. May all of your exam's come back clear. Kudos. ;)

Hi, Bryan. Thanks for the stellar review and for your sharing your personal insights. Both men and women have breast tissue - a fact that many men don't realize. So, any unusual knots, growths or lumps in the area of the bilateral chest or armpits should definitely be looked at. I appreciate your good luck wishes, my friend. Kind regards, Bev

Hello Bev,
You carried off quite well a discussion of a relatively delicate area. A bit of humor never hurts when it comes to medical issues.
An entertaining and educational read.

I can relate to this -
I'm a 38B, but plenty
big enough for my overall
size (5ft.2.5ins)....
and have had over 40 lumps
over the years. But thank
the Lord, each was a cist
which was drawn off by a
suringe.. leaving no marks
at all.
Here, women over a certain
age, have free regular check-ups,
which is, such a comfort.

Thank you for your excellent review and for sharing your personal perspective, Margaret. I'm sure each time must have been a tremendous relief. Another reason to see a physician, they can draw off the fluid from cysts in the office just as you described. Though, not all can be taken care of that way and some doctors won't even try - it's a quick way to take care of the problem. Kind regards, Bev

Excellent essay and a humorous take on a very serious subject. I too am what's sometimes referred to as well- endowed. Tomorrow is my day, the big squeeze, gotta do it every year. I'll be 69 in March ... good grief, I don't believe it ... but yes, I will. Thank God no more need for the pap, but the mamo never ends.
Very good!
Hugs,
Gayle

This is an exceptiopnal write that should find its was into a magazine. Your humor brings us into the article and guides us through the important information contianed within. Your narrative is engaging and easy to follow. I learned a few things from this -- one of which is that you are an accomplished writer. D

Great story, good advice, but written in such a marvelous self-depracating manner that you are instantly loveable as the author.
Now, I didn't say sweet, you write with the confidence of a woman who has had to fight back in this world, but definately loveable.
Great attitude.

Hi, Spiritual Echo. I'll take loveable over sweet any day. Most of my life I've been considered too naive, so your comment tickles me to no end! Thanks for the awesome review. Warm regards, Bev
