Oh, good! I'm not the only person on this site who doesn't get poetry. My understanding of it stops with Mary had a little lamb! But I can't wait to read the next chapter of your book. Happy New Year, Barbara.
Typo: I find that ()very interesting.

That is so lovely, Barbara. The artwork and the fact that you gave your husband a subscription to Fanart.
Your composition and poem are also lovely and heartfelt. I don't worry about rhyme and meter, what is that thing called meter? To me poetry is the language of the heart, however it comes.
Keep writing your stories, Barbara and I wish you the every best for this new year.

It saddens me that you want to give up poetry because some do not like your style. From your writings and your recent bout with Cancer, and having the ablity to teach first grade in a ghetto school, I have seen the strength buried so deeply in you. Good Luck in the New Year. I wish you and yours the best.

A very well written tribute to 2011. I really enjoyed your going through all the writing types. I liked the poem story combination. Both were very well written. Thank you for putting these wonderful writings on here.

I give you a six for having the wherewithall to say you are not a poet!! Some people are, some are not. What you are is a dynamite writer of the romance!! Keep at it though girl, you can easily become a poet if you just write free verse from your heart!!

My exact sentiments about figuring out poetry and all of their golden rules...too much for me..I'll stick to my stories and pray they bless others. Then, I'll thank God He gifted others to write poetry. How is Big Boy doing? God bless.

this is very well written, barbara, a great job writing this essay about the time spent this year on fanstory and the way your muse is starting to like poetry. i love all of your poetic work and insist that you give in to the muse when she wants you to write poetry. i hate it when people sit and count syllables on something that flows from the heart. unless the type of poem warrants it, i don't count syllables. that gets me off the poetic process. happy new years to you and your muse. Don't quiet your poetic pen.

Love your illustrative examples of what caused you to become frustrated with poetry
The art is by your husband, how very cool!!! What a great gift to give him :-)
I'm still laughing that you embarrassed Big Boy by sharing his little secret with all of us. LOL
Happy New Year, my friend. Brooke :-)
