Well, I think this is great. Your honesty deserves a six star rating, let alone your prayers for 2012 (which I totally agree with). I am a newbie here and just finding my way around, but I am enjoying it so much I am neglecting some other work (not good, LOL).
Finding your niche in writing is not easy. It does take courage to realize what you are good at and what you are not good at. I commend you!

Well, I think this is great. Your honesty deserves a six star rating, let alone your prayers for 2012 (which I totally agree with). I am a newbie here and just finding my way around, but I am enjoying it so much I am neglecting some other work (not good, LOL).
Finding your niche in writing is not easy. It does take courage to realize what you are good at and what you are not good at. I commend you!

Yes, I do find it interesting that poetry was you and novels are the imagined lives you live through the characters you create.
I once very early on wrote and won a poetry contest, but like you for me it was the opposite. Poetry felt pretentious (in the writing of mine, not others work) and even when writing fiction there is an authenticity that permeates each character. While it may have nothing to do with my actual life, my sensitivity to the subtleties of human nature and what I suppose that some people have refered to as my pschic abilities allow me to become that person on the page. It's my honesty. We have to live our own truths. Happy New Year, ingrid

Congratulations in being in the top ten for novel writing. I think I just missed it by being number eleven. A friend was trying to move me up to ten, but couldn't. The novel she was reading was written the year before. Those trophies are neat.
Poetry writing is fun. However, the many different types are puzzling. I agree. Just write whatever your mood takes you. Learn the hard way. That's what I did.
