Susan -- this story is exceptional. Keen descriptions shows your eye for detail, for observation and bringing those visions to life for your reader. You blend your internal world with the external one with poignancy and share you pain without seeking pity. The moment you entered the peaceful painting and drew a beautiful new life for yourself was quite moving. Hope you health improves and you continue growing as a skilld and talented writer. D

Wow! Deb, thank you! SO glad you understood and liked this attempt at keeping my sanity. I really did have that moment where I could actually see myself walking thru that scene. It was uncanny. I jotted down the emotions and wrote this later. I am very grateful for your kind thoughts and wishes Deb. Many hugs and smiles! I really appreciate this sixer too! HUG! Susan

You have a terrific ability to create pictures in the reader's mind with your vivid descriptions. From the clinical surroundings to your pain and where you'd rather be, even cleaning up cat's puke (to add humour).

The whole read is just the right length for me and had me rivited to every word.

Mysterious ending too - have you died and gone to Heaven...or just imagining for a pain-free moment.

Terrific stuff!

Happy and pain-free new year to you, earl

Very moving and powerful. I felt like I was there in the waiting room with you, seeing the pain on your face and the sorrow in your eyes. May 2012 be a healing year for you.

I want you to know my prayers are with you. I hope you remember that. I can't say I enjoyed your short essay because of the subject matter, but I am glad you are getting medical attention.

Hi Barb! Thank you so much. I understand too, why you would not enjoy a hospital scene. You have suffered greatly in them. I hope I won't join you in the fight against cancer...but it is a possibility. I'm hoping it's endometriosis returning...who knows. I am having surgery to see? NO fun. I sure dread it. I think of you too, and hope you are getting better all the time! Happy 2012 Barbara! hugs, Susan

Ill health seems to invade
us more as we age... I just
hope you will get the treatment
you need and the pain will vanish.

I'd go along with you if I lived near...
thinking of you.

Oh Margaret...this thought is the nicest of all. I wish you could go too...just to have you here to smile and talk to would be the greatest gift. Your thoughts will go with me as I journey thru this mess and I love you for it. Always. Susan

Wonderful thoughts and descriptions amidst misery. Great piece of writing that is beautifullly descriptive and vibrant, despite the pain. Amazing how that you have been able to craft such a thoughtful moment. Great piece, and here's hopeing that the future is a brighter one.

Hi there Sib...thank you very much! I have to distract myself, and keep writing when I can. I refuse to stop until I just have to. That day was a bad day, and the story helped some. I hope you will take good care and NEVER have this awful thing. I do have more meds that help some. For now! Lol! Happy writing my friend! Hug, Susan

It breaks my heart to know you continue to experience such horrific pain. I do wish you doctor could do something to alleviate at least some of it. Your description of drifting off into the Italian print and your ability to convey such beauty in the midst of so much pain is beyond amazing. Take care, rest and know that we all are thinking about you.

Nice picture.

I sorry to hear that you had to experience so much pain. Being in agony is never fun. I know I will never forget when a number of years ago, after an auto accident, my back was in so much pain I could not even get out of bed.

I hope you get to feeling better and somehow manage to have a Happy New Year. JW

HI Jonathon! Thank you so much! I had another 10 or so hours of it. Waiting on the doc to figure out when to do surgery. I dread it so. I hope your back is okay now? I bet it still gives fits. Our backs are too delicate. Please take care!! Thank you again! Susan
