Susan -- this story is exceptional. Keen descriptions shows your eye for detail, for observation and bringing those visions to life for your reader. You blend your internal world with the external one with poignancy and share you pain without seeking pity. Wow! Deb, thank you! SO glad you understood and liked this attempt at keeping my sanity. I really did have that moment where I could actually see myself walking thru that scene. It was uncanny. You have a terrific ability to create pictures in the reader's mind with your vivid descriptions. From the clinical surroundings to your pain and where you'd rather be, even cleaning up cat's puke (to add humour).
The whole read is just the right length for me and had me rivited to every word.
Mysterious ending too - have you died and gone to Heaven...or just imagining for a pain-free moment.

Hi Barb! Thank you so much. I understand too, why you would not enjoy a hospital scene. You have suffered greatly in them. I hope I won't join you in the fight against cancer...but it is a possibility. I'm hoping it's endometriosis returning...who knows. I am having surgery to see? NO fun. I sure dread it. Hi there Sib...thank you very much! I have to distract myself, and keep writing when I can. I refuse to stop until I just have to. That day was a bad day, and the story helped some. I sorry to hear that you had to experience so much pain. Being in agony is never fun. I know I will never forget when a number of years ago, after an auto accident, my back was in so much pain I could not even get out of bed.

I sorry to hear that you had to experience so much pain. Being in agony is never fun. I know I will never forget when a number of years ago, after an auto accident, my back was in so much pain I could not even get out of bed.
