It's about a flower that I grew when I was little.

Well, this is sad! I hope you will press your rose in wax paper? Just flatten it a bit, and put in beneath really heavy books? Then it will keep a very long time...if you haven't done this already. Nice entry...it's great to meet you Alanah. Susan

What a thoughtful poem you have penned, your flower must have been very important to you....I have a flower that I have kept pressed in my Bible, for many years..It simply means something special to me...
I wish you well in the contest..you held to the form. 5-7-5

Thank you. Mine was a yellow rose. It is pressed in my Bible too. What kind of flower do you have? Have you ever thought of writing a poem about it or using it to come up with an idea for a story? I apologize if I ask weird questions. I am just very childish when it comes to my curiosity.
    Thanks again,

    You are quite welcome!
My flower is a Red Rose, although I love Roses of all colors, yes, it is right here in my Bible...it reminds me of my mother, she loved Roses...You are not childish, simply thoughtful, I believe we writers are that way..so don't even think your questions are weird...You have given me something to think about, when you reach my age, (77) we need the younger folks to keep us going, thanks for that idea...Have a Wonderful Holiday..

I hope you have a happy holiday too! You know the kinds of people who think they know everything (many of them being my age)? Well, I acknowledge the fact that I don't know everything. That doesn't mean that I don't WANT to know everything. I am told that I ask too man questions, that my curiosity drives me to be invasive, that I push too hard for no real reason, and many other things. It's never stopped me though, because I have a feeling that those with questions do great things in life. I already said so, but I wish you happy holidays!

I believe you have a pretty good idea about questions...we are not born knowing, only by asking will we find get answers to many things that allow us to go forward...There are no perfect people on this earth, just remember that!

Soft gentle poem with great care taken by the author. It reminds me of a flower my Mom has in her bible that dates back two generations before her. It too was a flower that someone cared about a great deal, just like your rose.
Best wishes

Thank you. My rose was yellow. It is pressed in my Bible too. What kind of flower is the one that your mother keeps? Have you ever used the flower or your mother as inspiration for a story or poem? I think you could do wonderful things with an idea that you got from one of them. Sorry if I come off as a little invasive.
    Thanks again,

No problem at all, I'm not sure what kind of flower is in my Mom's Bible, I will have to ask her. I have not tried but thanks for the idea. I will work on that soon and post it here.
    Take care and Merry Christmas
