I wish the fighting would stop too. Seems it is what we are destined for isn't it? Thanks for sharing with us. Do have a great season..

A very well written and strong message in this poem. War will always be with us unless we find something we have to fight for/against together. Love the song and artwork.

You did a great job, I think you are a good talented poem. I like the originality and how your show how war has progressed. War has many faces and many ways of destroying all things in its path. Nice message an well expressed.

To robina1978,
An interesting topic as this world has gone to the dogs.
From frivilious arguments to the deadly wars that maim and destroy human life existence as we know it.
At all costs, it is something that will never cease until unity, forgiveness and understanding are found.
Charlene

Hello, Ine. This poem is well written and filled with some powerful verbs, with a touch of cacophony added. I was struck, particularly by your comparison of the weapons of old compared to the silence of the atom bomb. That gave me goosebumps. Thanks for posting this call for peace at this season of celebration of new life. Warm regards, Bev

Canons now - Cannons
good alliteration in long, lengthy
Your commentary on the cruel nature of war through the ages as the weapons become more and more deadly is certainly thought-provoking :-) Brooke

You have taken on a very challenging writing format here with trochaic meter. However your syllable counts throws the meter out on most of the lines Trochaic is exactly the opposite of Iambic and it must have even number syllable counts preferably tetra or penta.
The line below is the only line that has correct trochaic tetrameter"
"After effects so long, lengthy"
