Nice of you to read it. Personally, I think it was a great break with stuffy tradition! Cheers, Kace.

Very good rhyming poem. I like this format and you did it well! The story was very interesting too - love things like this. I think the pendant was a spectacular idea - what a smartie!

Hi Kay, I'm back online, so checked out what you've been up to, and glad I did. The poem's a real beauty for me in lots of ways. The language swing you gave the poem is great, expressing that cavalier act by the ousted Lang, and the horse imagery. I watched a doco about that day and it was really interesting. I like the personal connection for you, and how you wove that in, and because I wrote a prose short about that day as well once. Enjoyed it all round, the pic and colour scheme too. Cheers. Alyx.

What a delight to read, having visited Sydney, the opera house, several restaurants - Wings was one. Can't forget that name because I have a book "Wings" and generally sign all my correspondence "Wings" - I like the story and as usual learn from your poetry. I love the personal sharing about your parents! Very nice poem, Aussie.

Thank you friend, knowing the size of the Harbour Bridge you can imagine what it took to build. Blessings, Kay.

Your poem, Sydney Harbour Bridge, is one that is full of history; not only Australia's history but your personal family's history. I love that he made a pendant for your mother. How romantic of him!

Hi Kace,
You have penned a marvelous poem and one I relate to. I crossed that bridge in a car when I was in Australia, it is a beautiful thing to see. Your rhyming couplets are strong and so is the vivid imagery. You have told a great story and did it rhyme, no less. Well done...bless You, chey

Hi Chey, Thanks for reading and glad you crossed the 'Big Coat hanger' I think everyone relates to the bridge as the makings of Australia. Bless you, Kace.

Hello Chris, Thanks for reading old chum. Glad you liked the poem. How are things going with your lady? Bless you, Kay.

She is in hospital and they are doing a procedure this morning. It is called a catheter angiogram where put dye in the blood and send a camera through her heart to the junction where the narrowing had taken place at the base of her neck. Once the have seen exactly what is what is going on there, they will make a decision what route to follow. This is high risk it any of the blockage material comes loose it goes to the the brain and she could have a serious stroke.
-
You take the time to touch the morning and Let go and let God, it is a risky procedure (not uncommon) think the best not the worst my friend. K.

Cynthia is in Hi Care as a precaution after yesterday's abandoned catheter Angiogram. I spoke to the surgeon and he told me that she had a class 3 arched Aorta, (the curve is very tight) which made it to risky to get into the narrowing vessel coming of the Aorta. They can do nothing surgical for her and she will be given an extra drug for the rest of her life to thin down her blood thus passing through the narrowing easily.
I have just had a phone call to fetch her from hospital.

excellent rhyming couplets
I like the alliteration in span/side by side/singing/strong, etc.
I like swipe of sabre in particular
thanks for the informative background material in the author's notes
What a lovely way you've combined the historical occasion and your parents' personal story - and what a great tale of the origin of the heirloom pendant you now treasure :-)
I wish I had some kind of meaningful token like that from my parents :-) This is just lovely, Kay :-) Brooke
