Talk about a deep poem my friend, you should write them more often! This is a beaituful poem with lovely vocabulary.
You really expressed the feelings of the heart. I love every verse, but the last one is my favorite.
I have to get back here more often to read and write. I still plan to read more about Joey and his sister. You created quite a story there. I can't remember the title of your book though! Sorry about my memory! LOL
This poem deserves a six and I'm nore than happy rating it that way! :o) Helvi

Bob,
This is exquisite. Such an emotional, heartrending story within your poem. You have enhanced it beautifully with clever alliteration and the images are so clear. It is a most enjoyable poem to read. Giddy

The poem had me at the very first line. The rhythm imitates the rhythm of true love...steady and yet surprising. I've not been on fanstory much lately because I broke my shoulder. I'm typing with one hand, but that's better than typing with one finger. I hope you have been well. Dicy

Hi Bob
What an absolutely lovely love poem.
Your early stanzas give a melancholy feeling of loneliness.
Then we experience the joy when you meet the girl who was to become your wife.
I can see why the poem is called Joy.
Great presentation, too.

Oh wow, the final verse gets me carried away. It is so beautiful. Not to mention the whole poem, which tells the wonderful story of a bruised soul finding love once again. Bravo, Bob!

"Precise, yet vague,
such chameleon paths were traveled." no truer words have ever been penned to reflect the idiosyncratic life of the human soul. Well done!

God's plan hurled me onward
to discover your world in mine
at the brink of my fading sunset./That's the way it's happened to many of us, including me. After four failed marriages, I realized love wasn't the impetus for being in any of them. You've reminded me of that, and made me feel grateful for the one who is now caressing my bruised soul at 75. Better late than never. In my opinion, this is one of your greatest works. It definitely connects the dots of frustration in love.
