Great work, barbara. The information about the abused spouse support group was interesting, and Anna's reaction was very emotional and touching. Hard to see how she could consider herself to blame but I'm sure that happens with many victims like her. Troy's taking her was so supportive. Your chapter seems to be moving along just great. Happy Thanksgiving get-together with your family. judiverse

Most abuse victims have a very low self-esteem and feel it's there fault. The abuser not only beats their body but their soul. Thank you for the kind review.

Barbara,

Sounds like Anna really needed the support group, and like it's going to be a long process for her. She is conflicted about Troy, and even without more danger, such as Bobby escaping from jail, the book will take a while to finish.

I enjoyed this read and have a couple of comments:

"I [I'd] better do this by myself." She entered the room. The word "I'd" is a contraction for "I had."

In your author notes: "...so the whole family it [is] getting together for Thanksgiving at their house." Sorry, I couldn't help it. Sounds like a really fine reunion. A few months before my mama died, lots of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren flew in from California to visit her.

For some reason Mom has been pushing for this reunion for almost a year. I hope there's not some insight that we don't know about yet. Thank you for the eagle eye and support. I appreciate both.

This is a great replica of one person's reactions to attending a support group meeting. The first time is kind of like walking into a fog. This reminded me of the trepidation I felt as I was about to attend my first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in 1968. Well written as usual, plus your message was conveyed with much hope to those in need of a similar route to redemption.

I absolutely love the way you write and it is always so realistic. I missed a few chapters being away. I'll be back soon. I love the notes you add too. Where are all these Troys? Such a real man.

Barbara,
Super smooth transition here, and some trust starting to grow, possibly from previous seeds gently planted by Troy.
I still haven't gone to the beginning, but hopefully this next week I can.
This was a great chapter, a turning point because for the 1st time Anna realizes she wasn't responsible for the senseless acts of violence from her Ex. This must be a breakthrough that gives her much to ponder, and the lifting of a huge burden of someone else's garbage that she has been carrying with her!

Hi, Barbara. This was a very touching part of your chapter. I keep wanting to read the whole chapter. It is good to go to a support groups after experiencing such trauma situations. This is an interesting story.

I like the way this story is written (I read the previous chapter). I deal with victims of domestic violence as part of my job and I know the trauma it creates. Unfortunately, most women feel unable to break free and even the ones who leave, return. On average, a woman will leave seven times before she leaves for good. A frightening statistic.

Anna was lucky because she had people who encouraged and helped her. I know most abused women don't have this support. I appreciate your kind review and insight.
