I guess the Eagles are bored with their opponent?
I liked it. The words you use are very straightforward and reflect exactly what you're trying to say ... unless I misunderstood about the Eagles being bored.

Well, I meant the birds overhead watching all this and thinking
It's so much nicer to be up here." I don't follow football but suspect a lot of teams are named after birds. Tried to think of other natural things -- maybe "chipmunks yawn?" Although I wanted something high that flies. "Tis a puzzlement!

") NOT me! I put my four-wheeler in the ditch last night! BACKWARDS! I may write about it...lol! HUG! Susan

Glad you got the point. As did the birds. I think it's such a boring game, but not the first. That's golf.

I must say that I haven't much been into football but when we moved and that's all we really got on the weekends I learned to enjoy it and now I watch it every week.

No, I hate football for the same reason you do--that's why the title. Fortunately, my hubby can take it or leave it. I was tempted to end the poem: housewives yawn.

Nice little write that flows very well. The artwork compliments your work. Vivid words used. Good job with genre. I especially like the last line.

I came close to writing the last line: housewives yawn. But a lot of women like the game-- not me. Three hours wasted catching a pigskin. Thanks for the review.

Football, the sport of kings - well no, but sounds good. I like the unusual slant about the eagles yawning. Made me smile. One of my three sons played at the College level, University of Illinois, so I know the sport but not crazy in love with it. In fact in this poem I side with the eagles.;) Good work.

Me too. I almost wrote the last line "housewives yawn" but wanted to stick with nature.

Good choice. E.

Ya know up until 2 moths ago i would not have had any interst in football comments...however now one of my teenage gransons is a football player. It is amazing how you begin to havea wider perspective of sports when the grandkids are playing....so....because of that...I get this...much as you probably think I should anyway:-) Nice job

Thanks Deb. That would definitely make you more interested. My son played soccer so I took some interest in that.

Spitfire - A lot of people like football games. Your poem about it is neat, but my favorite line is the title . . . "And this is fun"? I wonder the same thing. Kat

Glad you liked the title. I was thinking how eagles are enjoying life and probably looking down on these players piling on top of one another. That would be their reaction.
