I don't know. She was about 13 when the Annunciation happened wasn't she? What a scary, yet so holy undertaking. And she could have refused. God never demands...He asks. But she agreed, and put her reputation, and her life on the line to be the Blessed Mother. This is beautiful, blessings...

This was always a favorite story of mine as a child. I was in awe of the film. Great poetic version of this wonderful tale. I might have to find that old movie somewhere too.

A very well-written poem about the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ. She could never imagine that she would be chosen by God to birth His Son as the Savior of all.

I doubt she knew nor was she prepared for any of it, Dove. Even Joseph questioned her fidelity at first.
But God always provides a way for us to complete the few tasks He asks us to do and in the end, Mary became one of the most beloved women in all of history.
Nicely done, God bless.

Hi Dove; this is such a beautiful tribute to 'Our Lady of Fatima.' I especially love this piece of history. The church I attended as a child had a tableau sculpture of the scene at the grotto. I always felt at peace when I prayed there.
Thank you for reviving this post,

Dove, your poem is beautifully illustrated and thoughtfully presented
I just love the trinity stanza and your use of questions that draw the reader in.
Strong use of rhyming couplets in this beautifully spiritual tribute to Mary :-) Brooke

Hi Dove,
I am honored you chose my artwork for your beautiful
poem. What a wonderful compliment! Short poems can convey so much to the reader if one look between the lines and yours does just that.
Thank you for the kind words in your author notes my friend.
