I like it - and who needs butlers, penthouses on the 22nd floor overlooking the park, a house in the south of france - or a fancy car. What we need is right here for us - the smell of fresh bread, children and friends smiling at us - encouragement from others and giving that away too. A visit to a church on Sunday to worship God. It is enough.
Enjoyed this poem.

I think this is lovely.
You may not have done it all, but you've done what is important to you and that is all that matters.
And now as you reap what you have sowed, enjoy.

A lovely poem I enjoyed your reminiscing. I think you have had a grand life and many more years to come I hope. I think Niagara is spelled wrong though. You can still edit it. All the best, Laura

Linda hello sweet friend. I enjoyed the meandering right along with you. I often think, so what if I die, what did I do that meant anything at all. Then I read something by a 30 odd year old woman who died of cancer and she said it simply ... forget about everything but, living and loving. Do that and nothing else will ever matter and you will have accomplished something truly beautiful. Wonderful write my friend. xoxo deborah

A very sweet and detailed reminiscence of your lovely life. Do not worry my friend, I do not think many of us have a big mansion with butlers in, what a life that would be though! Haha.

I have to say I really liked this, and I'm not much of a biographical sort. You told a story of a person who has lived a little more than some and a little less than others, but seem overall pleased with the route getting you from there to here. Very well expressed! Good writing!

This is life story is told with fond and not so fond memories. I love the (have done) more than (have not done.) The (have done) give character and soul. The (have nots) are the grand things that only few have the chance to have. Thank your sharing your memories. I love the random thoughts and memories that your writing has have put down. That is how the mind works. Thanks again and I loved it.

Brilliant. Your poem is absolutely beautiful. You certainly have shown the "have not's" in almost a storytelling way. You also showed the "haves" in your life. Which you have had many. Very well penned. Thank you so much for sharing this special piece with us. Blessings. ~Brenda

I've never done most of that stuff either. I live in a condo with my cats and we don't starve. I've saved a lady using the Heimlich maneuver. That was really something. Playing with grandchildren is great, isn't it? Guess we don't have too much to complain about.

Being 71, also, I get this free verse, which I took as a lovely statement of the life you have lived and appreciation of every moment of it. Shiny things like gold; ten acre estates; and living abroad just don't always make a person. You are loving kind and supportive woman, and this poem is a reflection of that. I know you must have some regrets, but feel they have never dominated the person you are. Hugs Val
