I really like this walk through your life that you've shared with us Linda. I also like the fact that even though you haven't had some of the finer things, you've shared with us an exciting life. You've done many things that I've not had the opportunity to do. I applaud you for that, making the most of what you have and going for it. I enjoyed reading this well written work. Well done!

A wonderful poem about your life. It seems you lived one. Who really needs china and a butler. You had something better. Time to smell a
the flowers and have loved.

Oh, there has been many difficulties, tragedies and difficult times but I never let myself get lost in those times . . . sometimes difficult but I have survived. I think I may be strong. I am woman, hear me roar!!

Your meanderings and memories show a life well lived. One that many should aspire to achieve. You definitely have "a cup half full" mentality or maybe it's "overflowing". I enjoyed each line and can relate to many.

Well done
Blessings
Janet

Heello, dear friend. It's so good to see you post again. Particularly with a wonderful poem like this one is.
So much feeling and human condition contained in your lines:

"I have bonded with babies and known their growth
seen angels on this earthly side, a sight allowed only a few
communed with nature, felt the connection to all living things
have irritated more than a few people, yet,
also brought warmth and laughter to many."

Bravo! Bob

A very well-written free verse poem about all the luxuries and materialistic things that many people find necessary to have is not half important as to have a heart of gold and a peaceful mind.

Hello Linda,

Your 71 years sounds a lot like my 74 years. I've never done or had most of the things that you mention in your "life's summary."

Although, I did do a lot of traveling back in the sixties but that was only because I was in the United States Air Force for four years during the Vietnam war.

After coming home from that part of the world I got a good job, got married and started a family. Then, just as life was getting good at the age of 47 I was diagnosed with MG, a form of muscular dystrophy. That's when my world started falling apart. So, I've been fighting this incurable disease every day of my life for the last 27 years.

We never know what life is going to throw at us do we Linda? You will be in my prayers and I hope you live to see 100 or more. Take care of yourself, my friend...Bill

Thank you, Bill. You sound very brave to me. My life has not been all glory and wonderful things. I'll skip that garbage but for the last 23 years I have been dealing with coronary artery disease. Fading energy and health has drastically changed my life and it is God given that I am still alive.

what a great story about your life. It sounds like you live overseas. I don't live in a mansion either but just a old house that has many memories. I do like antiques and furniture that has meaning.

Rosemary: I live in Florida; born in Miami, raised in Michigan and retired back to Florida. All the places I mention are in the U.S. Only other country I have visited is Canada a few times. Thanks for reading. Linda

You give us a glimpse of your journey in a wonderful little poem. A humble life is under rated these days, but I can appreciate the simple joys and peaceful sleep at night.
I love the word grand to describe your life as you harvest the bountiful harvest you have sowed.
Well done on the poem and your authentic life.
Cheers, judester

Oh, I love this poem that reviews your life. I like how you turned your poem from your have never's to what you have enjoyed:
but have partied in a limo once or twice. . .that was nice. (and not everyone has been in a limo, so you are changing the focus of the c amera)

Never earned six figures but was sure proud of my five/which kept me at struggling middle class/which I managed to survive.
And ain't that the truth! for so many of us.

And while I'm 65 to your 71, I have to agree with your final stanza as well.

T hanks for the poem.
