Hello Bicpen. I have to agree with you on Death being a messenger from the father. I liked your attached photo. It provides a bridge between the rift between unhallowed grounds and unhallowed souls awaiting judgement. I must check out your followed writings. Theology is right up my alley from one who is I think like you; Spiritual more so then religious. Cheers.

Yes, sin tears the soul. I like the last line,"Only thorugh submitting to death, will we see ourselves fully satisfied." The real truth is we will only be satisfied if we have lived a Christ-like life facing down the evil temptations. If we do not ask forgiveness for the sins, we will not be satisfied with the judgement. Yes Death is a messenger sent by the Father, to invite us to forgive ourselves and others to enjoy heaven with HIm. THanks for sharing a philosophical poem.

I agree you have to remember that it is written from the perspective of a christian. To me it is more than just philosophical....

As your profile says, you do like to write about Christian theology.

You made your case persuasively here:
Twists the heart to do evil. There is one
Enemy yet to be faced, its name will
Strike fear into the soul of every man.
Death is his name. Through sin he's designed
To separate, tearing the body and
Soul asunder, there is no escape but

--"A tale of sin and the last enemy."
Interesting title.
--Haunting 'grim ripper' picture image.
--I believe 'sin' is a stronger enemy than death and that man would have died anyway regardless of sin, as human bio-physiology (nature) has ordained it that way. But I understand that you're speaking from a subjective/Christian point of view.
--Despite faith in Jesus, we will all still die--a physical death, at least. What happens after that...is a toss-up. No one 'knows for sure'.
--"Only through submitting to death, then, will
We see ourselves fully satisfied."
Ambiguous/conflicting conceptualization. Are you now advocating 'submitting to death', which you earlier called the enemy?

The idea of sumbitting to death in christian understanding is that through the act of dying there is a greater reward waitng and therefore submitting to it in a knowledge as well as a physichal aspect will relieve the christian of many burdens this life holds for them to be consumated in a greater existence of a greater reality. In death we are made like christ and we shall be like him. One of the great aspects of life after death for the christian is that they shall be forever free from the tyranny of sin. Death is the last enemy as it is the final consumation that sin has to offer. Death is also an existence, hence hell, to be seperated from the love of God eternally.

As for the idea that we would all die anyway, you have no more proof of that either, from whatever perspective, as from the point of view that I hold sin is the cause of the degeneration of the body that brings physical death to us all.

The christian understanding of life eternal is that had Adam not fallen in the garden of Eden he would have lived forever, sin free.

Very well expressed lines and equally clear message.
I agree with you, we take this enemy residing within us rather lightly. As implied by your poem, one reason for that is when we forget (and most of us do) that we were created for a purpose, and transgress against God, others, and even ourselves.
Constant grappling and seeking refuge with the Lord are our weapons.
Best wishes.

Death is the last act of Life. Man is offered two gates, light and darkness. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for an easy read.
