You have a good start here, but none of your lines fit the syllable count. Try reading the lines out loud as you compose them, and counting on your fingers if necessary. (I find this helpful!)
Your first line has 6, your second line has 6, and the last has 8.
You still have time to revise this to fit the requirements for the contest, so I encourage you to do so so you're in with a chance of winning. :) Good luck!
