Well first let me say how honored and humbled I feel to be mentioned on a list that includes Judian James and Brooke (Adewpearl)
I started writing in March 2009 following my reluctant acceptance that I was told by medical experts to retire from full time employment due to Parkinsons disease.
To begin with, I just wrote a few poems that came to mind on Facebook, then after a while I began recieving comments from people on fb who had read them, saying how they enjoyed them.
In April 2010, from out of nowhere (to this day I still cannot account for it) came "The Stranger" and I have never looked back since.
My personal motto is " a wise person is one who knows little but seeks to learn much" and to that end, I always read other peopels work on fanstory to see where I can improve

I have responded to your work on site many times. It is only important to understand that we stretch our hands and search for inspiration and truth and your posts have been that part of me that doesn't feel so lonely in my own struggles.

Ingrid, I am moved. You have crystalized a facet of FS that I have been struggling to put my finger on. I do understand what you mean about your Pulitzer Prize---make that your first Pulitzer Prize. I remember that essay. And I remember our (minor, but candid)exchange. I was unaware of the extend to which that piece touched others, but inretrospect I can say I should have known. Hi, Spiritual Echo, you've related what's in my mind about this site, your heroes, and much more. This essay is written frankly, with clarity and zest. I can easily recognize, it comes from the heart. This is great:
