Oooooh, this is extremely spooky. Apart from Ghostbusters, I've never read anything like this or seen it on film. You write this very naturally and convincingly, excellent, Giddy

This is going to be such a fun book to read. I read the first chapter and this one introduces the characters in the drama.

I can't wait for the third chapter. You've got a good one brewing, Bev.

You have me hooked. I can't wait for more. I am glad I caught this before bed. I wouldn't get back until next Saturday.

"Good. We can always go back and dig deeper if we need to." Mike responded. (comma after to)

A very enjoyable read. I could take this book and read from the beginning to end, I'm sure without any problem. Didn't take not to any SPAG issues. Read nice and clear.

Another great chapter. The caretaker adds the creepy mystery person every good story needs. One wonders what he has to hide. Looking forward to next posting.

Hi, Seaglass. Thank you for reading this second chapter. I have to tell you that things will probably change a bit as I re-edit and tighten the subsequent chapters. I wrote this, originally, three years ago, and have learned a considerable amount of better storytelling.

I appreciate your interest very much! Bev

I think there's something going on with that caretaker, for sure. I don't know if he was involved somehow or if he's being manipulated. Can't wait to find out.

Yes, the caretaker is going to be a pivotal character in this novel, at least for the time being LoL. Thanks so much, my friend. Your enthusiasm is really heart-warming.

Writing: Getting spookier and spookier by the minute! I think I have to stop for the night; it's getting too scary! Great writing. Hope to pick it up again in a few days. livelylinda

Hi, Linda. I plan to edit the chapter you've just read as I changed a few things in the first chapter. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I'm thinking it might get confusing. I'll be posting revised chapters about once a week. Thanks for the encouragement, though! :)

I have heard this said before but I wonder exactly what they mean by it? Is the spirit looking for a chance to live again or just tell its story???

" looking for an energy source in order to manifest"

Oxford Dictionaries Online told me this:

display or show (a quality or feeling) by one's acts or appearance; demonstrate: Ray manifested signs of severe depression
(often be manifested in) be evidence of; prove: bad industrial relations are often manifested in disputes and strikes
[no object] (of an ailment) become apparent through the appearance of symptoms: a disorder that usually manifests in middle age
[no object] (of a ghost or spirit) appear: one deity manifested in the form of a bird

" added psychic gift of (of) being able to sense when she was being lied to." - drop "of"

" hired to (investige) some paranormal claims here at the estate" - I'm not sure of the word "investige". Did you mean to say investigate?

You are writing a fascinating story here, Bev. I'm anxious to keep reading. I'll read as much as I can today and continue on each day until I reach the last chapter :)

Hi, Joy. Thanks for the great review and suggestions -- always so helpful! I appreciate you going back to read. Lately, I've been thinking I need to get back to this novel. It's been quite some time, so I may have to re-tool and re-name. I've also considered doing it as a script. What do you think?

The prevailing opinion in the paranormal field regarding the way that ghosts manifest, is that if they are what is called, 'residual' they are like holographic images that just keep playing over and over not draining or requiring energy. If they are presences that want to interact with the investigator, they will drain batteries, drain the investigators energy, etc. I've had both happen to me. I've also gotten some phenomenol E.V.P.'s of voices not heard at the time of my actual presence at the location. Some pretty cool stuff to be sure!

I think maybe I'm getting a little nudge by spirit with this review.

As always, thanks so much, Joy.

    Hugs, Bev

I intend to get caught up in this story before you post another chapter. That is so cool that you do paranormal investigations. We have followed the shows on tv but they are always repeats now. I should send you the link of my grandson searching for a baby ghost at the ghost town. He loves the ghost shows too!

This is unusual for me to read this many chapters from one story in a day--that means, this is a great story my friend. I actually got chilled bumps running up my legs when the group started discussing the background information about the Manor. I'm weary of the caretaker because of what Mia said, he's not someone to be trusted---speaking of Porter, his first name is my last name (lol). Keep up the good writing my friend.

Hi, PT. I am so thrilled with your review. Great to know I have your support and interest. I do plan to keep these guys going for a while with other adventures once this one is completed. Meanwhile, we've got to find out why the caretaker doesn't want anyone in the house?! Have a great evening, my friend. And thanks so much. Kind regards, Bev
