Hi Bev,
I haven't read a lot of ghost stories, but I used to watch the TV series Ghost Whisperer. This feels a lot more sinister. The characters are interesting and I like them already. They seems like a solid team. That would be necessary in their line of work. Poor Mia. Her gift is a blessing and a curse.
So the caretaker is being manipulated. By which ghost and why?

Hi, Debi
Thanks for taking time to review as you go along. That's really very gracious of you. And I'm glad the team feels 'solid' because it's something that will be much needed as the story progresses. I appreciate the insight.
It's amazing to me as I am re-editing these chapters, how many more elements I'm aware of to improve the writing. Now I have back story to consider!
Thanks again, my friend.
:) Bev

Wow! This is shaping up to be fabulous, Bev. I was riveted! Seriously, woman - you are incredibly talented - this was so realistic. It was SO much like watching a movie.
I have one tiny suggestion, and it's not a necessity at all, but I think it might make the transition just a bit smoother. When the caretaker moves away from Mike after that disapproving proclamation, before Mike starts driving again, maybe have Mike express his opinion of what Jenkins had to say. (Just a few words...) (??)
You go into amazingly concise, yet vivid detail when describing a scene - it brings the whole thing to life.
I can't wait to read the next chapter!

Nice introduction to the key players in this chapter. Very comprehensive without wasting any words. Sharp mental images of them individually. The caretaker is rather creepy and I am sure full of dark secrets.

This is another excellent read. You move the story line along seamlessly. The dialog is so natural you can hear the voices as you are reading. I like the subtle hint that something could go wrong in making spiritual contact when your physical body is not 100% - I hope nothing bad happens as a result. Nicely done and I thank you so much for sharing this with me.

I must say that this is a pretty cool work. Its got a nice psychic feel to it, and the characters and plot push this along. Well done.

This was an awesome chapter! I haven't read your previous chapter but since it's still toward the beginning I didn't feel lost at all. I love the psychic element to the story. Also, really well written. I didn't notice any SPAG issues. Thanks for sharing!

Comment from Antoine Charlemaine
Wow! You are the story-teller extraordinaire! I loved this! Your detail is graphic and believable, and the whole story flows without a hitch so very smoothly. You kept me intrigued from beginning to end. I love the way you make your writing bring across the notion that we are dealing with perfectly normal, everyday kind of happenings here. Some mock this kind of thing, but there is no room for such ignorance with this work. Superb! Thank you so much for the intriguing read. Thank you, too, for your explanatory notes.
Anthony.

Thermal imaging camera, evp's , spirit box- you have all the equipment covered . Don't know if you have seen it, but watch Ghost Adventures on the Travel channel. They are always bringing out new equipment and it might give you more ideas.

Thanks for the suggestion and encouraging review, ravenblack. There's not too many shows on the paranormal that I don't watch. Aaron's my favorite on the particular show you mention.
:) Bev

Poor Aaron. He's like Shaggy from Scooby Doo. He always gets stuck with the worst. Two others - The Dead Files and Paranormal Witness.

I like Paranormal Witness, but I don't like the DEAD FILES. I watching a show about a paranormal group from a few years back. The tech person was this so-called Dead Files medium and she didn't claim or demonstrate any psychic ability at that time. I've also noticed that she's gotten more weird looking with each succeeding season. To me, there's something off about the lady, as I think her appearance attests to. I am very skeptical when it comes to mediums. :) Bev

Very GOOD. I love a good mashup of paranormal, supernatural, mystery and murder genres. Great natural dialogue, wonderful descriptive setting. Good character development. Clarity of plot and good use of the five senses. I have nothing negative to say. Good job.
