This is great. It is short and to the point, yet it carries a depth within it that leaves one pondering about the meaning of life. Fab.

Well constructed Naani in line with the traditional Naani theme of relations. I really enjoyed the metaphysical aspect of this poem. Best wishes in the contest.

sherrygreywolf,
your poem is beautifully written and rich in poetic imagery. Your Naani is in excellent form and syllable count of 6/5/7/7= 25. I like your metaphors you used: mysteries of life and seem not to fit. Effective use of other poetic devices such as alliteration. Your art work is lovely. I wish you good in the Naani Poetry contest. Have a blessed weekend.
Melissa.

Thanks so much, Melissa, for taking time to read and critique my poem, QUESTIONS. When the first few reviews came in I felt it must not have been as ready to be posted as I thought (several of them were from newbies, which is ok, but ...) I feel a bit better now that some of the 'old crew' has taken a look at it - I am getting both some higher ratings and some more in depth comments. I guess it is ok, after all. Thanks again for your comments. This is the type of review that tells me what I'm doing that people like (or dislike, as the case may be) so that I can improve.

What the heck is wrong with the people who've rated this up to now!? Must be drunk or shallow...

This is so well done. It is deep without being heavy, well thought out and put togehter. We all have these 'questions', and you've made an eloquent approach to it in Nanni form.

This is a nice write.Which leads to refection. The flow is good with a questioning at the end that it leads with the reader. I enjoyed reading this.

This Naani, is so simple, but leaves so much more lingering in the air to think about. The word tumultuous is fantastic. It brings so much life into the poem. I agree with the first line of the poem. There are so many answered questions, but so many more unanswered questions, just sitting there. Everything is a mystery, and it's just waiting to be discovered. The last line is beautiful. I love everything about it. It leaves you wondering, does it mean the end of your lifetime? Or does it mean the end of the human race? Fantastic job!

Such an extreme thought..... but it matches the photograph. And you thought me a new word, 'tumultuous'. It's a more than a mouth full to say for just a loud noise. I'm not sure what to think. The word is like rubber cement though. Good luck!

We learn reality and heartbreak from our first marriage and,
hopefully, choose more wisely the second time around. Mysteries become clear to us with advancing years, like "I can see clearly now the rain is gone". Your poem expresses
a sense of confusion that many can relate to in articulate
language, structure, flow and freestyle rhyme.

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my poem, QUESTIONS. I'm not sure why you started out talking about marriage, since this piece has nothing whatsoever to do with that, but I guess if that's where you mind was at last night, the poem could probably have addressed that with you.

P.S. Welcome to the site. I hope you will learn as much as I have and enjoy the friends you will surely make ...

Naani is a very complete, with a deep relexion about life, its unknowns and challenges. I like the last verse, because it really is the time in charge of revealing everything. Congratulations and good luck!
