This is a very well written and harrowing chapter. My heart goes out to Anna, and I felt every thump and kick. What a horrible disgusting man she is married to, he makes me feel sick. And when he asked for his dinner!! I wanted to kill him lol.
You have captured his brutish personality well, the misplaced pride in not wanting anyone to know he couldn't pay for the doctor, the rage at her defying him and his total lack of regard for his son.
The rape was very well done. I felt her humiliation and fear. He's a despicable excuse for a man. I'd love to meet him up a dark alley. He wouldn't be walking back out again lol.
Great character development on both their parts, plenty of gritty drama what more could a story want x

This is a good chapter. I might slow it down a bit. I am glad you are feeling better. I know you are tired of hearing cures from people and I am not going to do that. I take oregano capsule to help with building my immunity. I take a capsule a day and have not had an infection in three years. I use to be on antibiotics all of the time. It takes at least a moth to notice improvement. Everyone I talk into trying it has had the same effect. It doesn't cure but does help you fight.

Sounds interesting and I will check into it. Oregano is a spice that for some reason with chemo I have not been able to stomach. I can't wait until that's over. I love the flavor it adds to foods. Thank you for your kind review.

Wow Barb, you really portrayed that state of fear that overcomes any kind of logic. It's a fear of the wrath, the anger... That sporadic demon's possessive violence that comes and goes without notice.
I felt the shivers go up my spine when I read this and have felt that fear before. Someone's violent and vengeful hate triggered off by the slightest infraction. Wow! This is scary, d©j vu, or past-life memories I'm not sure but I can feel it in the pit of my stomach in how it consumes every ounce of fight that I usually have.
Like the knowing Jews being marched into the ovens with machine guns pointed at them. Fight or Flight is not an option.
Sorry to go off on a rant like this but you struck a nerve that needs some exposure. Thanks for that. - Dale

Not a problem. My husband was military and we visited Dachau while stationed in Germany. That many years later, you could still feel in the air the horrible things that went on there. Thank you for your kind review.

This is an excellent chapter, although grim. I get the feeling that Bobby had never beat her this bad before, but it is time for Anna to split.

This the worst and the first time he started toward Michael. I also have a black lab. Both are house dogs. The lab is 15 years old so mainly just sleeps. The pyre is still young, 3. Thank you for your kind review and support.

I can't believe he forced her into having oral sex. Poor Anna needs to get some fire in her and stand up to him. I have a feeling she's going to be justified in killing him if he ever beats her boy. Bobby is a drunken wife beater - I dislike him immensely. Your writing is hard hitting in this one. I was disturbed at the scenes in my head as I read. I can't stand for any person to be physically abused. And I lived with verbal abuse as a kid and it's as bad as being hit. I hope you remain positive and keep kicking cancers butt! I look forward to reading another chapter.
