God bless you. It seems we all know someone who has gone through the terrible ordeal of cancer treatment. The difference between them and you? Your writings bring light to the shadowy corners of fear. You are very courageous. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Blessings, Slush Pile (denny)

My dear lady - what you are going through is rough; however not to rough for today. Radiation was easier then the chemo for me, but I did not have them both together; however, a friend recently went through and is now on the other side. Lord Jesus, I thank you for healing Barbara through your stripes. I thank you also for blessing her and her family with the strength they need to make it through this tribulation.
You are well loved. Fiesty.

The information you are giving to us is invaluable. I know it takes a lot of courage to be so open about something so insideous. Maybe it will help to know you are doing a real service for people who are facing chemo, those who are in various stages of it, and those of us who are trying to understand its effects for the sake of someone we love.

I feel for you in this long battle you are going through. The treatments one after another must be so exhausting. You are a very brave person, filled with strength from within. I wish you well soon, my prayers are with you. Thank you for writing such a personal account, it forewarns and gives others strength.
Be well, hugs, V,xxx

I know that you are a strong woman and obviously dedicated to your profession, but if the doctor says you should take a day off, maybe you should do. It would be better for you to schedule a day off and allow them to go ahead and line up a substitute than for you to try to work and they have to call in someone on short notice. That's just my opinion. I want you to do as he says so you can get back to feeling better. That day of rest will make a world of difference, I'm sure. That radiologist had a point but not much of a sense of humor, LOL.

I have a substitute, who is a retired teacher and is only taking my class. She comes in on her time off and volunteeres in my room so she knows the kids and knows where I am at in each subject. She's dear. She understands I keep working because I need to make the house payment and am out of leave, just due to doctor's appointments. Thank you for your kind review.

Hello there,
I read this with interest. You give a good account of your treatment plan and how it makes you feel.
You are obviously dealing with it all in a very grounded way.
There are just a few points for you to look at from a technical POV.
1.[because I discovered ] should this be [I'll discover]? difference in tense.
2.[I get, thank Heavens, not often, ] I think there may be one too many commas here.

I know that you writing these pieces about your treatment will help so many others. I think you are an incredibly brave woman and I am full of respect for your fortitude. My elder son was diagnosed with testicular cancer 7 years ago and went through surgery, chemo and radiation. He has just been told his check ups will now be yearly and is very well. I am the local chairman of the Macmillan Cancer Support charity and we raise money every year to help this charity.
Everyone I know has had their lives touched in some way by this disease.
When Gavin was at his lowest, I use to freeze chunks of pineapple for him to suck and clean his mouth. He always said they tasted of the sweetness of life and got him through the worst. I shall remember you in my prayers, sweet lady xxmoyramouse

My prayers go out to your family. I am into frozen lemons and limes, right now. My family thinks I am wierd. I do have a question. How long after chemo does it take for your body to get back to normal, and your life by the way.
-
Just take it day by day, Each person has their own span. Be kind to yourself. Gavin lived off fresh vegetables especially broccoli, lightly steamed and seaweed extract which tasted horrible. Life goes in waves. You forget and then when checkup time comes up you are fearful, then euphoric. Gavin says that living as a cancer survivor is like living with an unwelcome guest. If he stays out of sight it is okay, if he doesn't, he gets on your nerves.
Prayers and little kindnesses get you through. The world and those you love are very precious. Too many of us take them for granted, survivors never do - they treasure them always. Keep faith, keep strong. my love, moyramouse

Wow! What a fantastic and touching writing at the same time.
Thank you for taking us on this journey with you. I'm sure it is a help in more than one area for you to be able to do this.
It is also a help for those going through it; and a help to those who know someone who has gone through it.
I applaud you. I know this isn't an easy task, however I do know how much having the Lord in your life, gives you the needed strength daily to go through it.
May He give you the strength needed each day to make it through.
God Bless You.
Thank you for sharing this with us!
Keep Writing!

uh, somehow I have been missing your post. Saw this one today. Now, girl, you listen to your doctor. That extra day of rest.....you are healing when you rest. when you are up and running around teaching......your body doesn't get that rest time. Please know you are not being lazy....and this is not the time to be the 'brave soldier not giving in to this treatment'
You deserve to have the best recovery possible. And I am fussing at you, cause my young pal with cancer is still trying to run a house, take care of three kids....both of you need me to tell you what to do. lol
My thought remain with you

Thank you for your wisdom. My guys do the cooking and dishes, I have a lady come in and clean my house once a week. I still do the laundry on weekends, but when I am too tired, I have my guys carry it for me. Thank you for your kind review.
