Your retirement plan is out of this world. Literally! Cancer took a young woman on Christmas day that had meant so much to our local writing community. She was only 32 and it looked as if the chemo was working. She had even thought she would return to her job as manager of the local Barnes&Noble store in January. Instead life as we know it ended for her on Christmas night. It looks like both you and your husband are prepared for "A Closer Walk", but if there is ever a time I can try to encourage, I am only a p.m. away. I am a survivor myself.

Jean, thank you so much. Your words mean so much to me. It has been a long road so far and I have a few more difficult days here and there that I didn't have the first couple months. I can only imagine what he is going through. Praise God for your survivor story. -Judy

This is a very strong poem, full of sadness yet laced with hope and faith. The line: "Cancer is all we heard that day" is so poignant- the product of such an impact.
Life is such a challenging journey.
Stay strong.

Your words are powerful as they come from the heart of someone walking through their most difficult journey. As always, you have the special knack of wonderful rhyme and rhythm. What a wonderful witness of holding on to the peace and comfort that comes from knowing our Lord's love and provision.Thank you for sharing during this most difficult time. Sharing your love of the Lord and finding comfort in writing to share your thoughts...that's writing at its best. Love and hugs, Judy

Reading this makes my mind ebb off to visualize what happened as the author clearly defines what transpired. A real sad poem and sad story, well written with rhymes.

I loved your poem, even in its sadness. For this is a situation many of us will face, and to draw strength from our Lord Jesus is wise.
My husband is in remission from lymphoma. I wish you strength and many blessings.

I enjoyed this poem very much. The information is sad but the message of the last two lines is uplifting. The poem has a good rhythm. Well done.

Thank you for sharing your fears and hopes with us in this lovely poem. I am so sad to hear about the cancer. I pray that God heals, but even so may his will be done. It is awesome that you both share faith in the Son.

I found nothing really wrong with this poem. It rhymes pretty well.
