I was expecting another Harley story. It is hard for me to properly review poetry. When I do, it's usually telling the author,I have no idea how to review a poem. LOL. I appreciate the explaination of the technical part, but when I do read a poem, it has to say something to me, which yours does. Nicely done.

I was expecting another Harley story. It is hard for me to properly review poetry. When I do, it's usually telling the author,I have no idea how to review a poem. LOL. I appreciate the explaination of the technical part, but when I do read a poem, it has to say something to me, which yours does. Nicely done.

Thank you SO much for reading and the generous review. I try to express valid points in my poetry. The technical stuff is new to me; since coming to this site, I've started practicing new poetic forms instead of writing in free verse. I appreciate your kind words more than I can express. ~patty~

My one true Light
Right next to me through this night
The Light being God, I guess "night" is not limited to the time of the day but also darkness, misery and depression too. Where there is despair, there's hope, light as long as you have faith.

Whoiteney's can be challenging to write but this one is executed very well. Your choice of words match the imagery and allegory you write with.
I like the flow and pace of the poem as well.

Patty, Your poem is in excellent Whitney poem form and uses optional rhyming to good effect. I like how you raise the question of where is God in our times of pain and then immediately answer your own question with the reassurance that He is right by our sides.
