Yes I did enjoy it. What a delightful
hobby and a poem to match.
great rhyming and fun rhythm.
It is a heartwarming piece with lots of
details that gives the reader a taste of
your workshop.

I enjoyed the poem very much. It had good rhythm. The stanzas gave a clear, witty picture of the subject, and theme of the contest. Wish you well.

Thanks Rosah for your great review. I estimate that I have built
about 200 bird feeders and about 300 bird houses in the past few years. If I had you in my shop for a day or two, you would be an expert in building crafts. Thanks again my friend and blessings to you and yours. Bill

What a LOVELY poem, that I SO relate to. I have a workshop out in my barn, which has brought me so much pleasure in my woodworking. Isn't it a great feeling to turn a piece of wood into something wonderful that will be around for years? I'm getting to the age now, where it's too hard for me to go to the barn and work- I have made so many things, including birdhouses, so many doll beds, Large corner dish cabinet, wooden shelves.. so many things. This made me wish I could be there with you in your little work shop! Again, I loved reading this. Betty

Thanks Betty. It sounds like you're a real craftsman. I'm also slowing down a great deal because of my age. I just can't do what I use to do a few years ago. Sometimes I just go to the shop and listen to the radio and smell the cedar. And it gets me out of the house for awhile. Thanks again my friend, you take good care of yourself. Cedar/Bill

Your poem is filled with happy thoughts, and after reading it, it seems you have found your heaven on earth; a place that some many people are looking for in the wrong places.

Thanks Lola for your kind words. It does make me happy each time I walk through the door. It keeps my hands and mind occupied. Sometimes I lay awake at night thinking about what I'm going to build the next day. I have got up before daylight and headed for the shop. Thanks my friend and take care of yourself. Cedar/Bill

You and your wife sound like me and my husband. He has a full time job as a Rest Area Attendant ( even though he's 78 ) and I'm at home. He works 4 days on and 4 days off. On those off days, if it's warm enough outside, he builds things like birdhouses, etc. He builds them, I paint them.
We will be getting ready for a tractor pull show at the Fairgrounds in March. There will be booths for selling and we intend to make things for that. I loved your little hobby. I still make things out of paper for gifts at the hospital where I used to work. Great job! V.A.

Thank you so much for your great review. Your life sounds a lot like mine. Building crafts in the winter and selling them, tractor pulls at the county fair and my wife does volunteer work.
Thanks again and take care of yourself and your husband. Cedar/Bill

Everyone needs that "little workshop" for when they retire. Though the activity changes, it remains my favorite place to go... kudos! Cheers, Jack

Thanks Jack. A man's gotta have a place to go through the winter months, just to get away from the old lady for awhile.
    Take care/Bill

Cedar, this must be how you got your pen name. I loved it and thank you for sharing your wonderful love of this hobby with us. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for your wonderful review and you're right, that's
how I chose my pen name "Cedar". That's the only type of wood I use in making all sorts of things. Cedar wood is weather and bug resistant. I live on a farm where I grew up and back in the
l930's and 1940's my dad built most of the fences using cedar fence posts and most of them are still standing. Have a great day. Cedar/Bill

I want a workshop like this - I need an escape from cabin fever too! The rhyme scheme worked well. Thank you for sharing your poetry.

Thanks for your review and hopefully one day soon, you will have
one. A person needs a place to go and be alone for a few hours
and do something they really enjoy doing. A great way to relieve stress. Thanks again and have a great day. Cedar/Bill
