Hello Helvi2 Your rhyming pattern is well done.

I love the tales of the monsters of the sea
But your sea monster Old Nessie was so real and yes a real pleasure to read your entry.

Bravo on all of it. The illustration is magical and your words are wondrous. This would make a marvelous children's book, N!!
"My feet flew to the poop deck fast
To get an awesome peek
My curiosity was strong
For what I sought to seek" I loved it all, but this verse was so cleverly wrought. Yes, Bravo again!

I don't think that there is any doubt whsoever about who is the monster. Humankind, or Nessie. The quatrain form of poetry along with your perfect rhyme and perfect metre, was the right format in which to tell your delifhtful little story. Long my nessie reign and I believe, that she always will, just as long as we have imagaination.s The Blue Pixel

Hi sweet Nancy.
This is an incredible little poem about Nessy. Long have folks became intimate with her, and it appears you have found fer favorite things.

Surrounded by her so called friends
She'd make a dive or two
Then jumped beyond the stars themselves
To crash in whoop-de-do

I love the whoop-de-do

Hi, Helvi. How are you doing? Nice poem you have here. Do you really believe in Nessie, by the way? Some do.

I liked the construction of your poem. Especially this stanza:

"Upon a night when stars were bright
This monster of the deep
Breached the sea from depths below
And woke me from my sleep"

Has a little flavor of poems like "The Night Before Christmas" to it.

    Hi Bob,
It's always nice to hear from you. Today was not a bad day at all, wish they all could be that way.

My mind is totally open to the possibility that Nessie could exist. There are so many things in the world we are still discovering.

I'm glad you enjoyed my Nessie poem. You're such a great writer it really is an honor getting a great review from you. Thank you so much!

    Hugs and Smiles,
    Helvi

Hi Helvi
I really enjoyed your fantasy poem visit to Loch Ness. I should think kids especially would love this story. Good luck in the contest.
My favorite lines,
"A dragon rose before my eyes
with dolphins by her side"
One line that I would work on some more,
"and those green scales of awe"
A great read, and I hope you do well in the voting booths.

Thank you Jennie, This poem was a lot of fun to write. I saw the figure of Nessie in a garden shop. She was made of moss and succulent plants. She was the catalyst for creating the picture and the story. It's amazing where your muse can take you. I really appreciate your review and am thrilled you enjoyed my poetic jaunt with Nessie. Hugs and Smiles, Helvi

a dragon with dolphins by her side - what a wonderfully glorious visual this conjures up in my imagination, Helvi :-)
Rings of fire, like hoops where they do loop-de-loops - another great visual and what a fun rhyme
I just love Nessie, the frisky dragon
This is a fantastic story poem with steady cadence and strong abcb rhyming - it sounds great read aloud as a good story poem should - wonderful!!! :-)
