Nicely done. Hard to continue the same rhyme throughout such a long poem. I think you had fun writing it, maybe due to the Christmas cheer. Thanks for using my picture to illustrate your good work.

This is a fun poem to read. It describes a nice Christmas Eve shared with a loved one. The first real snow is always beautiful, it's the ones that follow, I start to get a bit tired of...though I'd rather have snow than rain! Anyhow, I like the picture you choose as well. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. deb

Strangely enough we did see some snowflakes on Christmas morning. Just enough to coat what was already there.

Your lovely thoughts enhance the expectation of waiting for that first snowflake. You show the feeling of anticipation and delight at it happening very well.

Boy could I use a cup of cheer to get the chill out of my bones.
I think this is a very nice poem letting us know it won't be long now for the snow comes

dejohnsrld,
your poem is very well written and rich in imagery painting a picture in the reader head. Lovel art work and presentation. Your rhyme is great with very good narrative. Effective use of alliteration. The last stanza stood out for me: "Let us have a cup of Christmas Cheer As we sit and outside peer Until the sky is once again clear." Thanks for sharing your lovely rhyming poem. Have a blessed Holiday.
Melissa.

Great use of rhyme here. It sounds like a jolly tribute to snow. The meter works very well, too. I can't say I share your enthusiasm for snow, but the poem is a well constructed work. Nicely done.

A pleasant read about waiting for that first snow. It seems that most of the world has seen snow this year! Europe is covered for the first time in decades, planes are grounded everywhere, and it is generally a mess. Your poem brings back gentler memories of the little flurries - instead of fear of the blizzards! Well done. ~patty~

This poem, though the subject is cold, gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. I love the rhyme scheme -- it works well throughout the poem. Merry Christmas. I hope you're enjoying the holiday.

Brrrr! This work encompasses all that winter is, right down to its frigid, snowy nights. It's just right for the holiday season, and reflects the wonder of a wintry night. I love the imagery.

Thank you so much for the very kind review. I think I would rather have summer myself, but I guess winter has to be waited through. Debbie
