Patty,

This is another excellent poem. I enjoyed reading this post and couldn't find anything to criticize. We've owned several cats through the decades, but we much prefer dogs.

Thank you for reading my pet poems. Since Harley has come into my life, I have to admit that dogs are much more fun than cats. This is an undertaking and it is fun to learn these new styles. ~patty~

Love it girl. What a beautiful animal. Sigh, I do love cats. Your free verse is perfect for the demeanor of the hunter. Just one suggestion, "laying" should be "lying" ... only chickens "lay". MUAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Love this one.

Best of luck with your project - this is all very true about cats - but for my baby, it's cockroaches that keep her sitting still but watching intently!!!

Thank you so much for reading and the generous review. Storm would pretty much watch any bug - but he loved ants! I appreciate your kind remarks. ~patty~

Very well on this, when you love your pets, you don't have a problem writing it down do you? Stormy looks like though you didn't have him a long time, he gave you a lot of love. Thanks.

Beautiful! Loved it...it shows the personality of the cat's inner workings of the mind with very strong selective words. Not easy to achieve! Nice photo.

Very creative poem. I'm sure you miss your cat very much. It is so good that you have other furry friends to write about now. Thank you for explaining what a wave poem is. Debbie

Hi Patty:)
You certainly captured the hunting instinct of cats. For a short time we were invaded by cockroaches. One of my kittens, Little Bit, delighted in tracing a cockroach up to a certain death from a slashing claw.

When she was younger, Little Bit also loved to stalk toilet paper. Unfortunately, she would take slashing swipes at that as well, and often left claw mark on several hands be fore she learned about my Super Soaker training weapon.

You certainly used the Wave format to convey your message accurately, but somehow I fail to believe that other, more traditional poetry formats might work better. Without your great Author Notes, I would have missed the construction as well. Still, I learned something new and that appears to be your goal.

Thank you for sharing,

Roger

Thank you so much for reading and the generous review. It sounds like Little Bit was a great pet. I've had my share of 'toilet paper slashers,' they make life interesting! Your kind remarks are greatly appreciated. ~patty~

She still is as is her almost identical sister, Gigabyte who always sleeps between the monitor and keyboard as we work. The biggest difference is that Little Bit was only half the size of her littermates but far more adventurous and intelligent. Now at ten months, the two we kept are now the eact same size,

Cats are fun to watch when they stalk, anything!
Their 'wild' instinct is always a lugh or two.
Your wave poem is fine going by your notes.
A neat looking cat, I like his boots.

Thank you so much for reading. Storm was an incredible kitty; he was one of two cats we had at the time. His best friend, Rain was hit by a car, and Storm simply stopped eating, bathing, and thought the vet and I tried everything, I ended up having him put down. He died of a broken heart. I have so many memories of him 'hunting' ants and bugs, and a ton of pictures, too. I wanted to make sure he was part of the book. Thanks for the generous review.

Patty,
While you write in all of these various forms, I will simply read and enjoy the images. I am afraid to ask what happened to Storm, because cats usually live for more than five years. One other thought: if you really want to shock your readers, write the poem in the form of "The Perfect Storm." (I just had to do that:))
Fondly, Lyle

Thank you for reading and the generous review. I'm pretty sure that once I go through this book and try these different forms, I will choose one - way more traditional - and stick with that. Thanks for reading along. It is greatly appreciated. ~patty~

Patty, thank you for being a lady and not getting angry about my "Perfect Storm" suggestion. Although you have to admit that the
image would be fantastic, if the right words could be selected.

nothing more unpredictable than that of a cat stisfying its feline curiosity, they strike with the very least of warning with extreme accuracy
