Hello Steffy, Thanks for reading and glad you got a giggle from the alternative reindeers! May your Christmas be wonderful. Blessings, Kay.

This poem is full of fun, reminding us that Aussies have a different Christmas and a different Santa Claus. I did not know the legend about White Kangaroos (boomers) pulling the sleigh so it was also educational for me! Of course, adults never see them!
Thanks for the jolly Christmas poem.

Hullo Aussie ....
It certainly seems that in Australia, imagination is put into action when it comes to Santa Claus and his means of transport. Boomers dressed in jackets and bloomers ...
these certainly are very different from the Reindeer in this part of the world.
There is nothing to suggest changing and, as this is a Contest entry, I wish you well.
Love from ..... Nanette Mary.

I'd never heard this before, so thanks for teaching me something today. It's a lovely story. Nice meter and enchanting rhyme scheme. Are the names of the boomers made up by you or are these the names of Santa's team already? Nicely done.

Nice to see an Australian Christmas poem. Reads well, and is a good cheery Christmas poem. At the moment not too many big yellow moons can be seen in our rain-soaked skies though. Merry Christmas to you and thanks for the Boomers poem.

Hi Kay,
This is a delightful poem. I can't imagine Christmas being warm but the you can't imagine it being cold! This is a fine poem and I was glad for your author's notes. What a great legend the Aussies have about the Kangaroos. Good rhyme and even rhythm makes this piece a pleasure to read. Merry Christmas to you too....blessings, chey

Mazza, Thank you my friend; glad you enjoyed the poem. We can't see the moon at present - four states are flooded! Love, Kay.

This is a pretty neat tale, Aussie! I can't imagine six white kangaroos pulling Santa's sleigh in the summer. It blows my mind! Does your Santa live at the South Pole?
My favorite line,
"Giddy Up! Matilda, Bounder, Boxer, Skippy, Tailshort and Duffy" ... I'm going to have nightmares!
Thanks for letting us in on this caper.
Merry Christmas!

G'day Kimbob, Glad you got a laugh from the poem. No, I don't think he lives at the South Pole... maybe he does. Happy Christmas to you and yours, blessings from Australia! Kay.

Hi There Aussie,
Thanks for sharing your delightful Aussie Christmas poem. It brought a warm smile to my face. Bet Santa makes Austrailia his final stop at Christmas so that he can enjoy the nice warm weather and stop for a while before he heads back to the North Pole. The boomer bit is just too cute. Merry greetings, W ^-^

Hi There whizpurr, Thanks for reading, glad you got a giggle out of this one. Kangaroos are called boomers for the sound they make with their tails. Happy Christmas to you, Kay.
