I liked your message and I suppose there are some out there who are quite full of themselves and will give it a bad review but there's nothing wrong with speaking your mind.

Terrific write Spiritual Echo. Everyone has different motivations for why they write and this site seems to afford a venue for all. I don't consider myself a writer, never did. Had it not been for this site, I'd probably never have written more than a business letter. What I discovered here, however, was that people from all walks of life have the opportunity to express what is near and dear to them. I write because I think I have something to say and the discipline of writing forces me to assemble a multitude of fragmented thoughts into something reasonably coherent. Hopefully my insights will be of benefit to someone else.
What you have shared in this piece should give hope and inspiration to many who struggle through the less than stellar review. I learned something from a fellow some time back that we all should keep in mind. SWSWSWN translated, this means Some Will, Some Won't, So What, Next! Once again, Terrific write.

What a thoughtful and generous sharing of your thoughts.
I always tought that I was an essayist, that I couldn't write fiction, but then surprised myself and now I can sit with a prompt and be at it for hours. Thanks.

Sums up site perfectly. Its all about vanity but where is the harm? Deep pockets inspire. I am new here and wondering if its worth it. HMMMM! It's a tough one.

It needs to be a personal tool. Great for gtting you to write regularily, but only you can take it a step further. There really are some great writers here and most of the feedback is very good. But its a toll, not a means to the end.

i gotta say i am more of a fiction person but a lot of the things you have said are true and i found myself nodding along to a lot of it. While i can't comment on your literary techniques i can say that as corny as it sounds as long as you really do believe it what you write then you will be successful. Keep up the good work mate.
PS Jut one thing, is it really that bad to be a Canadian? most of the one's i have met have been awesome people. Meh guess some people like them and some don't

Most Americans seem to think of Canadians as somewhat lower in status, lets say somewhere between a gnat and a flea, so its probably wise to let the US reading public know they are reading the submission of a lower life form so that they don't need to tax their brains into an opinion. Are you from Oz?

yes i am an Aussie, But i honestly don't think the US are in any position to call anyone a lower life form. I remember one of the friends i mentioned before say that Americans have a joke about how to make a Canadian say sorry to them.....to step on the Canadians foot.....what they don't actually understand is that the Canadians are saying sorry for the Americans being such dickheads not that they stepped on their foot ;P. lol

I am a Canadian, but that doesn't stop me from claiming all of North America under my umbrella of glittering generalities. This continent doesn't reward culture...loved these lines as I pictured Canada as an umbrella over North America (Beautiful imagery).
You touched on so many points in your letter, so many that I've thought about, yet afraid to admit :)
I jump up and down over a six-star rating and wonder why my husband is looking at me funny. Doesn't he realize six stars is like winning an Oscar?
