Mystery Poet,
your poem is beautifully written. The art work you used is gorgeous. Your words paint a picture in the readers head. Excellent narrative and very good descriptive writing. Effective use of metaphors such as my mind begins to wander, kindle a jasmine flame, belong not to me, seem to course right through me, quill joins in unison, with the cosmic flow Universe allows me, though possessed scratching, trying to capture a glimpse, living in the moment dreams that we create and I feel so alive! I especially enjoyed the lines: "I write as though possessed scratching and scrawling faster and furiously trying to capture a glimpse of the mystical almost magical." Great alliteration. Your poem The Silent Muse is an excellent entry in the writing prompt My Muse. I wish you good luck in the contest and voting booth.

Comment from Valkarie
I like this nice flowing poem which is full of imagery, it is concise and has a good flow with a rhythm that captures the tension of the piece. A most visual write that has an artistic expression with good descriptions and an emotional appeal about it. The complexity of this poem is well expressed making it a good piece of poetry.

I like the way you've
approached writing about
your muse - how you are
inspired and your pen
takes flight as thoughts
come to you.
Good luck with the contest, my friend.
Margaret.

this is a lovely free verse and makes an excellent entry for the contest. I feel I know you--and am wondering who the author is (I think I know who - am curious if correct!)
Love the artwork, color scheme, theme, phrasing with dramatic pauses and the way the work as a whole shares the same tone and feeling.
scratching and scrawling
faster and furiously
trying to capture
a glimpse of the mystical
almost magical
Enjoyed both the alliteration and content of the above.
Bravo and good luck!
Warmly, rd

No greater feeling that for an idea to form with a couple of words and as we write those words, more come faster than we can put them down. It is great to work with words.
Well done, Buck

scratching and scrawling faster and furiously - you really do convey the writer's feelings of being possessed by ideas - this poem captures the writing process when it is in that mystical place before one works on the commas and stuff :-) Brooke

Ha ha! How true! That made me chuckle! Nasty comma's and stuff, taking away the magic! LOL
Thank you for reviewing, Brooke, much appreciated - Cally :)

Great when a sudden insirative thought occurs and the hand cannot keep up with the racing mind.
Trips to fantasy land , or wherever it may lead the writer is shown well, and then we come back down to earth to enjoy the reality of what was just written.
A very alive and satisfying feeling.

I've been reading quite a bit about that muse thingy, lately. I don't have one. I'm thinking I should head to the muse store. Great poem!

Ha ha! They'd make a fortune wouldn't they? Perhaps, when you find your own muse, you should set up your own shop! LOL

as my quill joins in unison
with the cosmic flow- sounds like inspiration struck someone's now bleeding pen :) I enjoy it as well and have to write it all out or I'd forget.
scratching and scrawling
faster and furiously- it's a wonderful feeling to know what to write.
