I will pray for you like the rest of us.
Its the price we pay for treating killer diseases. Hair nails and rest of the cells will regrow. Buy beautiful scarfs and show off.
I am sure the strength witin you will cope well.

Barbara for someone who
isn't a poem you did just
fine, possibly better than
some of us do at times. Excellent
poem, succinct and to the point
with excellent choice of verbiage.
My prayers will continue for you
and your battle and you have all
of my support. Hugs, Lora

It sounds like the cure is as bad as the disease. It's good to have the support of friends and family. Chemo is a difficult process to face.

My father is 1/2 Native American. While growing up, I hated being sick because some of his home remedies where worse than the illness. I am positive chemo is the same. I know I had cancer, but I never felt anything, except for the surgeries. I know I will feel something with the chemo.

This is a wonderful poem. I feel it expresses your emotions well. The word choice is great. The flow is excellent. It's a beautiful piece.

our prayers are with you and i pray you are one of the rare ones that will not get sick from the chemotherapy and you will be able to bless your little students with your care and teaching. your poem shows the fear you have and the knowledge from your doctor. may your healing be so fast everyone knows it will come from God. your free verse is excellent

Good Evening Barbara,
I pray your first day of chemo went well today and
you weren't overcome by negative effects. Chemo
is difficult, but it is part of trying to get well. Hang
in there. My prayers, and well as countless others, are
with you and for you.
This poem is beautiful, heart felt and sobering. You did
a fine job in putting the feelings and emotions into verse.
I urge you to keep writing and perhaps start a book on FS
for your writings related to your battle with cancer. I started
mine in June and call it "Phoenix." Without a doubt, writing
is a catharsis and will help you by getting your feelings out on
paper and sharing same with us.
My God bless and keep you,
Ray

I have been encouraged by others to write a book of my thoughts and experiences during this long ordeal. I have a feeling that is exactly what I am going to do.

I'm so glad to hear this! I shall look forward to reading it. -ray

Well, I guess you've just become a poet because that was a lovely sentiment you expressed. You face your fears and you see victory ahead with the support of many around you in a physical and spiritual sense. My thoughts and prayers follow you tomorrow. God bless!

Thank you for your prayers. It takes something big for me to pretend to write a poem. (LOL)

You have all my best wishes, Barbara. I think that you are very brave not only to be able to face what lies ahead, but also to write poetry about it. You say that you are not a poet, but this piece belies that statement. It's beautifully written. Keep writing and listen to your doctors.
