Barbara, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you continue your battle. You have so many positive attributes and so many people cheering for you. I believe you will conquer this disease and go on to help others to succeed.

I will keep you in my prayers. My boss's son went through chemo but is alive today because of it and the bone marrow transplant. I know God will see you through this. Bless wishes. God has us all in the palm of his hands.

This day you were dreading is such an important time for you and your family.
At least you are being treated by people who are not afraid to tell you what is going to happen. Perhaps not a blessing as it just makes things even more scarey.
Being a writer is such a wonderful skill that you can use to help you and those you love.
Here in your free verse, you are able to express your true deep feelings with such honesty.
Can I just ask, please? Have you not been advised to stay off your work for a wee while? Surely it is better for you to have all the necessary treatments without the worry of contracting infection or 'little knocks' from the young children you attend.
I have some arthritic neck problems, and find it very difficult to keep up with my daughters three children on my own, even for a couple of hours.
You must get really tired out. You need to look after yourself.
I leave you now, thinking of you and hoping that this day is not as rough as you expected.
You are a lovely lady, and I wish you a safe journey.

My doctor actually advises me to continue to work. He said I should not miss any work. He thinks as long as I wash my hands, often, I should be all right. We shall see. I am not sure, although, I have told him that I teach in a ghetto school and infections run rapid.

Dear Barbara, my fellow piscean, we share the same date of birth, though a few years apart, but I just feel I have to ask you my friend.
How much do you love the children you teach? How much do you love you? How much do you love your family?
My instinct tells me to tell you to follow your true instincts.
I am shaking with feeling, do you understand?
I hope you understand, I have not meant to upset you.

I understand, but unfortunately my husband retired from the military about a year ago and his retiremnet doesn't make our house payment. He refused to get a job and I still have a 17 year old at home. I have mentioned to him that it would help me because I wouldn't have to worry about what would happen if I get too sick to work and his answer was he can't get a job because of the recession we are in. He has not tried. I have also mentioned the side effects so chemo and he says you're different so it may not effect you like that. You can't teach am male who refuses to be taught.

You must really love him so much. Is your 17year ol, male or female?
I can only keep praying for you, and for that man of yours to see sense.

My 17 year old is male. I raised 4 boys.

I bet they love you so much. I have two daughters and twin boys between the girls. All grown up now and with their own families now.
Boys tend to have that extra bit for their mum, don't you think?
I hop you are not being too tired out with my chatting with you just now.
How are you feeling?

NO I am not getting tired. I need to leave for a chemo treatment in about 35 minutes. I like keeping my mind busy so I don't dwell on what's about to happen. Yes, boys love their mother and aren't afraid of showing it.

I just had a flying visit from my oldest daughter, so if I have missed you, all the best. Do you have access to computers at the hospital? The wards in our local hospital have individual computer access at each bed. If I ever need to have another inpatient spell, I hope I will be able to access it. My body might be ill, but my mind is not.
I am thinking of you now, all the best.

It does but I am so computer dumb I am not sure how to do it. My laptop is wireless, but the hospital is not, but you can hook up a wire. I am not sure how to do that with my wireless. I am going to watch and learn before I look to foolish.

I can empathise with you on this, my neighbour is in chemo therapy, and a Lady friend i know had breast cancer, as did mu aunt who died from it.
The harrowing experiance is certainly not to be taken with a pinch of salt or overlooked.
In both people i have seen the change, physically and mentally.
You wrote well over the support needed and how prayer is more than just words to empty air.
I wish you strength and courage.

Oh, dear Barbara, no wonder the tears and fears surface.
The sad truth is that Chemo theraphy is a very destructive process, but, that is why it is so effective in killing off the cancer cells.
I love your poem and think that you make an excellent poet.
